Roseanne Barr had some things she needed to get off her chest, and she sat down with Megyn Kelly and did just that.
The veteran television actress wanted to share her feelings about former co-star Sara Gilbert and the abrupt cancellation of Roseanne.
Barr also shared her thoughts on the decision to not only fire her but kill off her character in the series Roseanne.
During her appearance with Megyn Kelly on SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show, Barr used some harsh and graphic terms to explain how she felt about the actions that Gilbert took against her.
She said it was as if she was “stabbed” multiple times by Gilbert. Barr stated: “It was her tweet that canceled the show. And then she tweeted ‘It’s sad when one cast member,’ something about racist, blah, blah. And I was floored. I was just floored. And you know, but she ends up owning my work, and Tom Werner becomes her partner in owning my work.”
Barr and Gilbert, alongside Laurie Metcalf, John Goodman, and Lecy Goranson, starred in the original hit series Roseanne from 1988 to 1997.
The show, which followed the middle-class, dysfunctional, and loving Conner family, was revived in 2018 on ABC, with the original actors reprising their roles.
The sitcom was well-received, watched by millions, and got rave reviews.

At the height of the show’s success, Barr shocked many by sharing a racist tweet about former Barack Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett.
Barr, a faithful supporter of Donald Trump, said Jarrett is the product of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes.
She tweeted: “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes had a .baby.”
Barr apologized for the inappropriate remark saying: “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”
But the damage was already done. Roseanne Barr was slammed for her words, and many demanded she be canceled.
In a tweet, Gilbert said Barr’s comments were “abhorrent” and added: “… it is not a reflection of the cast and crew or anyone associated with our show.”
Barr said Gilbert’s usage of the word abhorrent made her persona non-grata. Barr was fired, and Roseanne the show was canceled after one season.
She also explained to Megyn Kelly: “And you know, they just tried to kill me, and I felt like they killed my character and my character,” Barr said, “but I thought they were sending a message over the airwaves because they knew I had mental health issues. I thought they wanted me to kill myself. And all my friends did too. They said they’re trying to push you to suicide.”
Gilbert and ABC launched a spinoff called The Conners that will end next year after six seasons.
