Donald Trump has a busy life; he is running for president, looking for potential vice presidents, and fighting off lawsuits.
The billionaire real estate mogul was the first Republican to launch his bid for the 2024 presidential race. Soon after, a long list of familiar faces, including Mike Pence, Ron DeSantis, and Chris Christie, jumped into the arena.
Trump started slamming many of them, for he considered them to be enemies or traitors.
However, the former reality TV star took time out of his grueling schedule, (flying around the country to campaign and to make court appearances while running multiple businesses), to praise a handful of his opponents.
Political pundits say Trump’s kind words imply that he is thinking of these individuals as potential running mates.
Among those, who might be on Trump’s shortlist to be VP, is businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur with a net worth of $630 million, thanks to his biotech and asset management businesses, was recently praised by Trump.
Trump said this about Ramaswamy: “I think Vivek has done a very good job, frankly. I think some others have done a good job. You have some good people on the stage, actually. I think you have some very talented people. I’ve been impressed by some of them. Some of them I’m very friendly with, actually. I think you have good potential Cabinet members, too.”
Trump made some positive remarks about another man of color, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina.
The author claimed in an interview: “I think he’s a very good guy. We did opportunity zones together. Tim is very good. I mean, I could see Tim doing something with the administration, but he’s right now campaigning, and I’m sure Tim and everybody else would say I’m only interested in one—but Tim is a very talented guy, and you have other very talented people.”
Chris Christie has a dire warning for the men (and women) that Trump is eying to become his vice president: it is not worth the hassle.
The former governor of New Jersey, a former close friend of Trump turned nemesis, said in a new interview: “I spoke to Mike Pence; the job doesn’t sound like it was too great.”
The political commentator also slammed Trump for refusing to debate him. He said: “Look, I’ll fight Donald Trump anywhere he wants, in any arena he wants — whether it’s on the debate stage or in the octagon.”
Nikki Haley and Kari Lake are rumored to also be on Trump’s list of potential vice presidents.
