King Charles And His Son Prince William Discredit The Old English Institution With Their Tasteless Decision

The backlash over King Charles III and Prince William‘s decision not to travel to Australia to support the female English team as they battled Spain in the final of the World Cup is reaching places never imagined.

England’s Lionesses delivered a stellar performance on the field but ultimately lost the game by a score of 1-0. The Prince of Wales, who is the President of the Football Association, deemed it was not necessary to fly to Australia to show support for the national team.

The heir to the throne was slammed for the decision, which was called sexist and lazy. He was further bashed when he attempted to use his daughter, Princess Charlotte, to change the topic by having her appear in a video to wish the team good luck.

When the move with Princess Charlotte failed, a report surfaced claiming that King Charles’s protocol made it impossible for Prince William to go to Australia and support his team.

The Mirror revealed: “Royal protocol is blocking William from attending. King Charles, who became Australia’s head of state after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, has not yet visited the country. That would mean that William cannot constitutionally visit the country before his father.”

Now, the question being posed is: Why is it that King Charles and Queen Camilla could not make the effort to fly to Australia and cheer the Lionesses?

The Royal Family is now being criticized for ignoring the soccer team and posting tasteless and uninspired messages on social media.

Founder and CEO of Broadstairs Consulting Leah Brown spoke to Express and revealed the “no-show calls into question the role of the monarchy in modern Britain.”

Leah Brown told the media outlet that King Charles’s lack of interest and Prince William’s silly stunt raised questions about their roles and added: “The primary impact of King Charles not supporting the Lionesses, and the PR stunt played by Prince William using Charlotte to garner public favor when delivering an unpalatable message, is that it calls into question the role of the monarchy in contemporary Britain.”

Brown also claimed that Prince William’s choice to abandon his duties puts a bad light on his father, King Charles. She said: “I have some sympathy for King Charles’ position. In this instance, the nominated individual, namely William shirked his responsibility thus throwing others into the firing line.”

The royal expert called out Prince William on his excuse for missing the match. She continued: “I am unsatisfied that climate change concerns were the driver behind non-attendance. It was disappointing to have no state support alongside the Queen of Spain. Charity causes and investments aside, the idea that the royals are anything other than performative suggests this event ought to have been attended at least by a female royal representative.”

Brown said the lack of support from the Royal Family was “short-sighted” and concluded by: “Ultimately it is short-sighted for King Charles and Prince William to deprioritize attendance. The Women’s World Cup was the perfect opportunity to make a stand for both progress achieved in society vis-à-vis women in sport, and forging the unity of an otherwise polarized nation by supporting the Lionesses in person in Australia.”

Defenders of the monarchy are hoping that the controversy will go away.

  1. I seem to remember that William wanted to go to the match but was stopped by royal proacol and also I think a bit of Charles thinking that William is more liked than he is by the public in general our so called royal expert sounds very much like a fully paid up member of the woman’s rights committee and just using this as another chance to bash the men and William being her target this time I do agree that the royal family needs change to bring itself in line to the rest of Europe as far as this sort of thing goes but çharles isn’t the person to do that he’s to stuck in the last century it will have to wait for William to become king for that to happen this is written by a not royal expert just a person that supports the royal family
