This week, rumors have been swirling that Prince Harry has finally convinced Meghan Markle to take the big plunge.
The former soldier and his wife are looking at potential real estate in England. The power couple made the move because they were hoping to reconnect with King Charles III.
The duo also wants their two young children, Archie and Lilibet, to spend time with their grandfather.
As they search for their ideal home, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are hoping that King Charles will do them the favor of renting them an apartment in London.
However, according to one royal expert, King Charles is walking a fine line between Prince Harry and Prince William.
Talking to OK!, royal historian Dr. Ed Owens explained that King Charles is not in the business of granting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle any favors because it will antagonize the heir to the throne.
He continued: “What the King has to keep in mind is that Harry’s presence within Britain is somewhat antagonistic.”
Owens added that while King Charles has made progress with Prince Harry, Prince William is not interested in having a rapprochement with his brother.
The expert said: “These reports suggest that the relationship is very difficult between the father and son at the moment. We know that the relationship between him and his brother is particularly fraught. Anything that Charles has or does on a personal level to try and reconcile the relationship with Harry could have a broader negative impact on his relationship with other family members.”
He concluded by: “Because there are clearly members of the family who are not ready to forgive Harry for what he’s done.”
After the revelations in Spare, sources close to Prince William revealed that he and his wife, Kate Middleton, have decided that they will never forgive Prince Harry.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have also made it clear they do not want Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back in London, not now or ever.
Royal biographer Tom Bower told OK! that the Duke of Sussex “can’t come back because he has caused so much damage to the family.”
He added that even if Prince Harry apologized, he would be rejected. He shared: “I think Harry’s offer will ultimately be rejected. I doubt William and Kate would forgive him. The concern now is that if he does return, he could well damage it even further.”
Supporters hope that Prince Harry will be able to find common ground with his relatives.
