The next generation of Kardashians and Jenners are ready for their takeover. The world is getting a proper introduction to North West — the oldest, bubbliest, and most creative daughter of Kim Kardashian and her ex-husband, Kanye West.
This week, the 10-year-old girl launched her journey into dominating the media and business worlds with her first solo magazine cover and first interview.
While North often appears with her mother, siblings, and aunts on the reality TV series The Kardashians, this is the first time she has sat down for a lengthy conversation about her life, dreams, goals, and hobbies.
The first child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West posed for i-D Magazine‘s The New Wave Issue wearing an oversized sweater that she pulled over her face.
She is featured in the magazine wearing some rather cool and age-approved outfits. The young star tackled a variety of subjects — some light ones and a few serious ones, via Just Jared:
On her favorite song: “Through the Wire” by Kanye West. On singing and performing: “Yeah, I like singing. Performing is my favorite.”
On if she gets that from her family: “Sometimes, mostly from me, though. And then a little bit of my dad.” On her favorite fashion show: “My little sister’s fashion show in her closet.”
On the animal, she wants to be: “I want to be a mosquito. Because I’m allergic to them, and I can tell them all to leave me alone.”
On the best thing in her wardrobe: “My Michael Jackson jacket that my mom got me for Christmas!” On her style icon: “Me.”
On her favorite thing from her magazine shoot: “That I got fries, because I really craved fries, and I love doing hair and I got to do my own edges for this shoot.”
On the art, she made recently: “Yeah, literally today in art class. But it’s a secret for my mom’s birthday. Last week I finished a landscape and a sunset, and I made a little circle thing.”
On her hobbies: “Yes. Going shopping for people. Basketball, but it’s not a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. And I just love basketball so much.”
On her life in three words: “Blessed, awesome, cool.” On whether she likes photos taken of her: “Yes. Only when I want to, because ehhh, I don’t want to sometimes. But not by the paparazzi.”
Three words to describe herself: “Umm… The Best Ever.” On who she would want to meet the most: Tupac.
On her favorite memory: “When I first tried basketball, because I was so bad. So I know those memories and I’m like, ‘Ooh, now I’m so good’, I got so much better.”
On where she’d like to live outside of LA: “Japan.” On what she wants to be when she’s older: “A basketball player, a rapper, um… Well, when I was seven, I wanted to be a boxer. But now I don’t want to be a boxer. I’m going to do art on the side. When I’m, like, thirteen, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies, because everything around here is so expensive. So a rapper, a basketball player, and I’m going to make artwork that I sell. Also, one day I want to own Yeezy and SKIMS, and I want to be a business owner.”
There you have it, folks, North West, the potential rapper, dog walker, and painter who plans to run the multi-billion dollar empire created by her parents.
