At the age of 42, Kate Middleton has announced that she is battling cancer. The future Queen of England, who recently underwent abdominal surgery, appeared in an emotional video where she explained that she was receiving the best care in the hands of British doctors and nurses.
Prince William‘s wife also stated that they caught the illness early and are undergoing preventive chemotherapy to beat it.
She stated: “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful—however, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team, therefore, advised that I should undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
The mother of three also explained that her husband and family are present to see her through this challenging situation.
She continued: “As I have said to them, I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body, and spirit.”
However, the Princess of Wales declined to share one secret thing about her battle with the disease. Middleton is using her faith and trust in God to win this battle.
Princess Kate relies on her faith to win this health battle, and her husband, Prince William, supports her. Middleton is a religious person who regularly attends church services. She believes in God and prayers.
Middleton revealed her faith to the world before getting married when she decided to have confirmation, a public declaration of Christian faith. She revealed that her faith is strong by willingly making the move.
The Guardian noted: “The latest generation of royals seem openly less religious than their parents, as is the way of things. However, this is evidence that Kate’s confirmation really means something to her, rather than the contrary. She didn’t have to do it and seems quite capable of resisting any pressure to conform/confirm from those around her.”
Prince William is also a churchgoer, according to his spokesperson. The Daily Mail published a piece saying that Prince William was not genuinely dedicated to church services.
A rep denied the claims via Woman Alive: “The Duke of Cambridge is a committed Anglican and has a strong personal faith.” The aides also highlighted that the couple celebrated their marriage at a Christian wedding that was attended by then-Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams. During the service, they shared a prayer that they had written together, and the spokesperson described it as evidence of their “continued faith.”
When Prince William becomes King, he will hold the title of Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the Church of England.
