Kate Middleton has a few surprises up her sleeves for the summer. It was King Charles III‘s birthday celebration, but it was clearly the Kate Middleton show at the Trooping the Colour.
The cancer-stricken princess, who had not made a public appearance in more than six months, had the rock star return that the media and her royal supporters have been begging for.
Standing on the Buckingham Palace balcony in that white dress and matching hat, Middleton commanded the world’s attention for a brief moment.
The appearance was the morale boost that the future Queen needed because she has made some dramatic changes to her summer itinerary.
According to royal insiders, who spoke to The Telegraph, Middleton is delighted to have surpassed all expectations with her surprise show-stopping decision to attend the Trooping the Colour.
Prince William‘s wife and her team have decided it will be the “will be pattern in the months to come.” The mother of three will operate under the motto of “under-promising and over-delivering.”
A royal source revealed: “The princess hopes to return to a form of public engagements, already working from home when she can and easing herself back into meetings.”
Middleton’s schedule is taking a new shape after her reappearance on Buckingham Palace’s balcony. While she has decided to skip some events, such as Garter Day and Royal Ascot, the world cannot wait to see Middleton in action at Wimbledon, rubbing shoulders with international athletes and superstars, and possibly donning a breathtaking tiara at the Japanese state dinner.
The publication revealed: “Palace sources have ruled out Garter Day and Royal Ascot in the coming weeks, but everything else – Wimbledon, the Japanese State Visit, and bread-and-butter engagements – remains a possibility. The watchword at Kensington Palace, caution, still holds. They will not be confirming appearances too far in advance.”
According to the royal source, Middleton is calmly returning to active life because it is hard, if not impossible, for her to rest at home.
While it is hard to predict what Middleton’s itinerary will look like because of her ongoing treatment, what can be sure is that she will be back because royal events “are not the same without her.”
Sources shared: “Resting has not come naturally to the active Princess, but she is trying. As with any patient having chemotherapy, there is no crystal ball to predict when and where we will see her in public again. The Princess of Wales, however, temporarily, is coming back. It would simply not have been the same without her.”
Middleton is slowly finding her groove again.
