Prince William has always made it clear where he stands with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — there is no turning and no coming back from their wrongdoings.
However, the situation differs slightly for King Charles III, depending on the season.
While Prince Harry and Markle are often wiped out from The King‘s mind and agenda during the fall and winter, for the summertime, reports usually indicate that he wants to see his family, especially his two young grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
This week, King Charles clears up all confusion about the type of relationship that he wants with Prince Harry and Markle.
Yes, His Majesty still views them as family, but that is where the story begins and ends.
According to one royal expert, Prince Harry and Markle can throw themselves at King Charles’s mercy and never be embraced as working royals again.
With all the talks surrounding King Charles’s major mistake in slimming down the monarchy, specifically his decision to reduce the number of working royals, many saw a glimmer of hope for Prince Harry and the former actress.
In a new interview, Christopher Andersen, author of The King, told Fox News that even if the seas parted for Prince Harry and Markle to re-enter the Kingdom, His Majesty would not budge on his decision.
He told the media outlet: “Harry and Meghan have drifted so far out to sea as far as King Charles III and Prince William are concerned. There is really no foreseeable way in which they’ll ever be welcomed back.”
The royal expert explained that the best King Charles has to offer is “royal crumbs” for the controversial duo.
Andersen added: “Even if Harry were to throw himself at the King’s feet and beg for forgiveness – which Harry is not about to do – the best he could hope for would be crumbs from the royal table and the sort of grudging acceptance that is currently being afforded to Harry’s disgraced uncle, Prince Andrew.”
He went on to reveal why the “complete pardon” is off the table by saying: “If Harry and Meghan are determined to monetize their titles, then they’ll just be digging that hole deeper and deeper. But if they simply use their California-centric celebrity to build their brand and steer clear of overtly capitalizing on the Sussex name and Windsor connection – well, everybody has a right to make a living. Even then, there would still be acrimony — and zero chance of Harry getting back into The King’s and William‘s good graces.”
The Duke of Sussex is not getting close to returning to the royal fold.
