Prince William has made his peace with the passing of his mother. The heir and his brother, Prince Harry, went through a horrific experience as young children, losing their mother at a tender age.
Despite the weight of his responsibilities, Prince William has chosen to keep Princess Diana‘s presence alive in his heart and through the memories he shares with his children.
However, this is different for Prince Harry. The Duke of Sussex has made it a lifelong mission, with the help of his wife, Meghan Markle, to keep his mother’s legacy going.
To achieve that, he can speak about her and her many achievements. Most recently, during his interview with journalist Rebecca Barry, Prince Harry was expected to focus on his long and bitter court fight with the British media.
However, the topic rapidly turned to his late mother. Prince Harry explained: “There’s evidence to suggest that [my mother] was being hacked in the mid-90s, probably one of the first people to be hacked. And yet, still today, the tabloid press very much enjoys painting her as paranoid. But she wasn’t paranoid.”
Prince William got wind of the remark and said, “Not again.” Via Express, a source explained that Prince William was fuming at his brother’s decision to profit from his mother’s pain.
The insider added: “William is spitting mad that Harry would reference this again. He’s so fed up with [the Sussexes] cashing in on Diana’s death.”
According to the insider, the unhealthy attachment to his mother has grown since marrying Meghan Markle. The person claimed: “Harry just won’t move on, and it appears that since marrying Meghan, his obsession with his mother has only intensified. William’s getting to the point where he’s washing his hands of Harry for good.”
In 2017, Prince Harry and Prince William sat down for an extensive interview part of the television special marking the 20th anniversary of her death.
Prince William explained it was the last time they would talk about their mother.
He made this promise: “We won’t be doing this again—we won’t speak as openly or publicly about her again because we feel hopefully this film will provide the other side from close family friends you might not have heard before, from those who knew her best and from those who want to protect her memory and remind people of the person that she was.”
Prince William finds it creepy that Prince Harry cannot keep her memory private.
