However, Gomez feels she has been pushed aside in the past year for her cheerleading pals.
Swift has noticeably shifted her focus, spending more time with Lively and Mahomes, and less with her longtime friend, Gomez.
Throughout 2024, Swift has been frequently photographed at over a dozen outings, including football games, fancy dinner gatherings, parties, and red carpet events, often with Lively, who is entangled in a real-life movie scandal, and Mahomes caught in political drama with Donald Trump, but noticeably without Gomez who is going through personal and health hardship.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, a source close to the singer and new billionaire revealed that she is in a mature and demure phase of her life and is not interested in being in the spotlight with Swift and her high-profile friends.
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were last seen together in January. According to an insider who talked to the media outlet, Gomez feels like she has matured out of Taylor‘s circle of friends.
She has no desire to be out with Blake, Ice Spice, Brittany, or any of those girls. The source continued by saying that, unlike Swift’s other friends, Gomez has no desire to be a cheerleader.
The insider stated: “In a lot of ways, she feels like an outsider now. She is not a cheerleader and never wanted to be.”
The person noted: “They are each focused on their careers and their relationships. Ultimately, they are both happy for each other and are in love at the same time.”
The source explained that Gomez and Swift could not go on double dates because Travis Kelce and Benny Blanco have vastly different interests, making it challenging for them to find common ground.
The insider shared: “They know double dates are out of the question because their men would literally have nothing to discuss.”
Blanco confirmed that there is no effort to meet with Swift and Kelce in a recent interview on SiriusXM. Another source close to Gomez revealed that life has taken a toll on the friendship and added that que sera, sera.
The confidante said: “They will likely see each other in the future at awards shows or if they happen to be in the same city and may catch a dinner. They talk all of the time but they just haven’t been in the same city at the same time for a while.”
