King Charles III, committed to creating the peaceful atmosphere he longs for, has taken a firm stance against the tension and drama often caused by his son and daughter-in-law.
His Majesty, a true lover of nature, has spent his entire adult life highlighting governmental issues and advocating for environmental preservation.
The King is known for enjoying long walks in forests in England and Scotland. He cherishes peace, quiet, and serenity from a family often filled with scandals and spectacles.
At the age of 75, The Monarch is battling cancer and has decided more than ever that calmness is what he needs in his life.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, that is one reason King Charles has made it clear that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be invited to Sandringham for the Christmas holiday.
Author Ingrid Seward said via FOX News: “No, I’m not a bit surprised they weren’t invited. I think the general feeling is that it would’ve just created an unwarranted atmosphere, and Christmas isn’t about that. Christmas is about everybody being happy and getting on with each other. And… I just think that King Charles just couldn’t deal with the [drama].”
King Charles is sovereign and, therefore, will not be pushed around or manipulated into taking actions that he believes would negatively affect him or the monarchy.
King Charles would undoubtedly want to spend some time with his precious grandchildren, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, but he is unwilling to pay the price that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are asking for.
Prince Harry and the former actress made it clear that they would not return to the UK with their young children unless the King was willing to provide the security they requested.
The former soldier has been fighting the British government in court over the security drama. Sources told PEOPLE and The Daily Mail that Prince Harry is adamant that King Charles has the authority and the money to resolve the matter.
Buckingham Palace has denied Prince Harry’s theory. However, that has not stopped the prince and his wife from attempting to emotionally blackmail the King by letting him know that he will only see his grandchildren when he resolves their security issues.
King Charles has decided to be short and blunt with his response. He does not have time or energy for this right now. The Sovereign has made his health and peace of mind his main prioritiy.
According to Seward: “I think he’s desperate to see his grandchildren. But Harry won’t come here unless he has this, that, and the other. And he wants an armed escort, and he’s making too many demands. And I completely understand. [But] Charles [is saying], ‘Look, I’m just not going to ask them this yet.'”
The Duke of Sussex and his spouse will have to find another route back to England.
