Meghan Markle and her spouse are embarking on a significant journey this year, a grand effort to reshape their public image and alter the disastrous narrative.
In the past few weeks, Prince Harry‘s name has been mainly linked to his court drama both in England against the media and King Charles III‘s government and in the US, for he is fighting against President Donald Trump and the Heritage Foundation.
As for Meghan Markle, she has been dealt with a deluge of bad news career and image-wise. Former staff members blasted Markle in a lengthy exposé published in Vanity Fair, claiming she is a mean and manipulative boss.
The former actress’ long-awaited Netflix series With Love, Meghan was pushed back. Markle faced a torrid backlash because of her public response to the California fires.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle consciously shifted the conversation to a more uplifting one. Sources have confirmed to Express that Markle will attend the Invictus Games in Canada next month alongside Prince Harry after considering it and following the advice of her new PR guru.
The media outlet explained: “The Duchess of Sussex decided to join her husband after PR firm Three Gate Strategies took over the couple’s communications earlier this month with a new direction.”
The Head of Communications, Ashley Hansen, believes that it is time to return to what truly worked for the pair — joint appearances instead of solo engagements.
A well-placed source told the publication: “There will be a renewed focus on the Sussexes as a couple, as a brand, and showcasing them as a couple and family. The Sussexes have decided to step back and let Ashley take the reins on their PR plan.”
Talking more about the couple’s strategy, the source stated: “It was important for the Sussexes to appear together at such a worthwhile event. The Invictus Games is a Sussex initiative that they want their children to continue once they get older.”
Express has suggested that Prince Harry and Markle plan to make the Invictus Games a family affair, with the possibility of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet appearing.
A source told the outlet about the Invictus Games Foundation: “The Invictus Games is a Sussex initiative and something they want their children to continue once they get older.”
Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to travel to Canada together confirms what King Charles had suspected all along — the pair has deliberately refused to travel to England to create chaos with their ongoing lawsuit against his government for a higher level of security.
If Prince Harry and Markle can comfortably visit Canada, Colombia, or Nigeria, His Majesty believes they can fly to London and receive the protection they need.
The King views the decision to avoid the UK as preventing him from spending time with his grandchildren.
BBC’s royal correspondent Jennie Bond said via The Mirror and The New York Post: “It must remain a great sadness to the King to be so distant from his two US-based grandchildren — he hardly knows them, and there’s no prospect of that changing anytime soon. The early years in a child’s life are so magical — and once they’re gone, they’re gone. I hope the King doesn’t dwell on his loss too much, but it must hurt.”
The pair is definitely starting a new chapter.
