Donald Trump did not take long to brutally remind his vice president how insignificant he is in the grand scheme of things.

JD Vance‘s political journey took an interesting turn, and he was anti-Trump during the business mogul’s first run.

His decision to oppose Trump will likely haunt him for the rest of his political career, casting a shadow of uncertainty over his future.

Trump will prioritize the people who have had his back since day one above Vance, which does not bode well for the VP’s political ambitions.

In 2016, Vance’s opposition to Donald Trump’s candidacy, particularly his comparison of Trump to Adolf Hitler in a private message to a friend, was a significant moment in his political career.

In a private message that was later leaked, Vance expressed his thoughts on Trump’s politics. He wrote: “I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical [expletive] like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler.”

Convinced by his sons, Trump selected the former senator from Ohio because he is young and has the pulse of Middle America, evangelicals, and those determined to go from rags to riches.

However, as soon as Trump found a true partnership and buddy in Elon Musk, Vance was relegated to the back of the bus.

Musk has become the most prominent figure in Trump’s administration. Often, people forget that Vance even exists, let alone the vice president of the United States.

In a recent interview, Trump made it clear there is nothing Vance can do or say to remedy the situation. Talking to Fox News, Trump was asked the question on everybody’s mind — will he endorse Vance for president in 2028?

Without hesitation, he threw Vance under the bus. Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier asked the 78-year-old president: “Do you view Vice President JD Vance as your successor, the Republican nominee in 2028?”

Trump’s response was swift and decisive, leaving no room for doubt about his stance on Vance’s political future. He said one word: “No.”

The former reality TV star added: “But he’s very capable. You have a lot of very capable people. So far, I think he’s doing a fantastic job. It’s too early. We’re just starting.”

Baier interjected: “By the time we get to the midterms. [Vance] is going to be looking for an endorsement.”

Trump changed the topic by saying: “A lot of people have said that this has been the greatest opening — almost three weeks — in the history of the presidency.”

Vance might have sealed his fate with his insults toward Trump.
