Social media parodies are nothing new under the sun, but it looks like certain accounts might be hitting a little too close to home for some people.
In a recent incident, O.J. Simpson has allegedly sent threatening messages to an account parodying him over his successful evasion of legal charges in the murders of his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
According to the parody account itself — @KillerOJSimpson — Simpson sent a message stating “I WILL FIND YOUR A** AND CUT YOU,” as well as over a dozen knife emojis.
The parody account revealed the threatening messages together with a video posted on the 25th anniversary of the arrest of Simpson.
It does not look like this is somebody impersonating Simpson either, as the messages came from his actual Twitter account, @TheRealOJ32.
Simpson is reportedly new to Twitter and has been testing the waters since creating his account about a week ago, and he does not seem to understand specific nuances of the platform so far.
Um yeah, @TheRealOJ32 Just sent this scary ass DM treating me to delete my parody account. Watch the video. ??? RT this @WORLDSTAR @TMZ Funny stuff. #OJSimpson pic.twitter.com/3bXha7n47U

Moreover, while it is not clear if the messages were indeed sent — the whole post could have been a fabrication — many have started to mock Simpson over his behavior, pointing out that he might be acting a bit too guilty for his own good.
Simpson himself has not commented on the situation and has so far been quiet on that front.
While some suspect that Simpson might not be involved in the incident at all, others have been more skeptical towards that suggestion.
Online commenters have intense reactions to the former joining social media.
One person stated: “I hate to say it BUT….I’M ACTUALLY HERE FOR letting this brother speak his truth directly to us!”
A second follower added: “Never thought I’d see the day when the juice would be messy asf on IG! Lol & I live for it. ?”
A third commenter explained: “OJ you don’t got to lie to us but if they paid you some good money. I completely understand I would lie as well. ??”
When it comes to the Khloe Kardashian and Kris Jenner rumors, an Instagrammer wrote: “Boy you lied about not killing a WHOLE human! you think we believe you talking about she ain’t yours ?!”
Do you think O.J. was wrong to join Twitter?
