According to Mario Lopez, the idea of parents letting their children grow up as transgender is a dangerous one and should be treated carefully. The TV personality made the comments on The Candace Owens Show last month.
He was specifically referring to Charlize Theron and her daughter, Jackson, who is only seven years old but is already transgender.
Lopez explained that while supporting these notions was essential for any good parent, it was also important to tread carefully and let children develop their own understanding of how the world works before jumping to conclusions about their identity.
Owens, a former Democrat and Trump-loving conservative, has provided some additional insight into her side of the story and claims that she has nannied for several years and this has given her a lot of perspective on how parenting works.
However, her views still seem to clash with several other people on the subject.
She stated: “Even though I’m not a parent, I nannied for five years of my life and the things that come out of children’s mouths – they say whatever in the moment, you don’t know what they’ve seen on TV what got in there ear. I’ve had children say they were mermaids, I’ve had children say they could fly – and jump off a staircase and thank God I caught him, right, cause he thought he could be Superman. I am trying to understand this new Hollywood mentality where they just think their children now have the mental authority,”
Lopez responded with: “I am trying to understand it myself and please don’t lump me into that whole [group]. My God if you’re three-years-old, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make this determination then … it’s sort of alarming and my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on. I think parents need to allow their kids to be kids, but at the same time, you got to be the adult in the situation.”
The issue has been a hot one in the media in general lately, and various people have chimed in to express their positions about raising kids as transgender.
While society has become more accepting of this personal issue, observers have also seen more attention being paid to it in negative ways in some circles. Especially when it comes to issues like parenting and family values.

A supporter stated: “BUT HE IS RIGHT! You can’t let your child make such a big decision at such a young age. They’re still learning about themselves, and a lot of children like to follow what they see.”
A second person, who agrees with Lopez, explained: “He’s right, don’t discourage their thoughts and feelings, but don’t give the child authority to make life-altering decisions at such a young age.”
Lopez, a Christian father of 3, has slammed liberals for being intolerant to different ideas in the past.
