Kanye West recently shook the political world and received major backlash after he announced that he would be running for President of the United States in 2020.
This is not the first time that the controversial rapper and fashion designer talked or ranted about running for the highest office in the land.
Last time, he spoke about becoming president, many laughed, but this time around, he is getting obliterated because Americans fear this is a PR stunt to get President Donald Trump re-elected after thousands died due to the coronavirus and because of his mishandling of the crisis.
Kim Kardashian did not surprise many by taking to social media to voice a quiet support for the 43-year-old Chigaco MC.
After Kim made a move on Twitter, an interview she did in 2016 resurfaced, where she shared her thoughts on becoming First Lady of the United States.
In the fall of 2016, Kanye announced his plans to be a candidate and Kim was asked if she was ready to become FLOTUS and she said this while name dropping Melania Trump: “Look at all the awful things they’re doing to Melania [Trump], putting up the naked photos [of her]… I’ll say to Kanye: ‘Babe, you know the kind of photos they’d put up of me!’ Haha.”
The reality TV star and businesswoman said she was not sure that her husband was serious about the run and added: “I don’t wanna put words in his mouth, but I’m pretty sure the Democrats. Maybe independent? I don’t know how serious he is about it. We’ll see…”
Kim was asked if she would ever want to run for president? She explained: “No, I don’t think so. It would be probably the most stressful job in the world, and I don’t think that’s for me.”
Kanye’s love for Trump and comments about slavery have made some turn against him.
A critic stated: “That’s his plan. Is to divide the vote to get Trump re-elected. It’s the only thing that makes sense. Especially to announce this late. Trump’s popularity is dwindling and this is the perfect plan from him and Kanye to ensure reelection. Please don’t fall for this.”
Another voter made this remark: “Kanye just wants ppl to send votes his way to split the Dem vote & get Trump 4 more years Kanye works for the other side stay woke we can’t trust him we can’t continue to support him he’s not welcome anymore. He’s “running” to take away votes from Biden. Wake up people.”
A social media user had this piece of advice for voters: “He hasn’t even filed the proper paperwork to be considered to run for president. This is a distraction… please focus and get out there and vote ? ?.”
For experts, Kanye is either trying to help Trump or promote a new product.
