Taylor Swift made the summer a little bit better with the release of her new album, Folklore, that contained a series of moving songs with beautifully-written lyrics.
Swift spoke about social injustice, love, bullying, heartbreak, and even alluded to pregnancy on the sweet tracks.
The country/pop diva, who had a bone to pick with Kanye West and Scooter Braun who have been thorns on her side, decided to take a swipe at both of them.
Swift and Kim Kardashian‘s husband have been going at it since the painful incident that took place at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards involving Beyoncé.
While Swift was on stage giving her acceptance speech for Best Video by a Female Artist, West, who was drunk at the time, took her mic and said: “I’ ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!.”
Years later, West with Kardashian by his side reignited the feud on his album entitled The Life of Pablo, which led to a series of leaked videos and messages supposed to paint Swift as a liar.
As for Braun, he has been in a bitter war with Swift over her impressive catalog. Oddly enough, Braun was West’s manager for an extended time.
Swift first knocked West off his game by dropping Folklore on the day he had initially chosen to release his DONDA album.
The artist and activist shared her thoughts on West’s personality on the song called “Peace.” It appears that the international singer/songwriter seems to call the rapper a clown.
This is the sentence that appeared in the viral lyric video: “But there’s robbers to the east/Clowns to the West.”
Fans were quick to notice that West is capitalized in the lyrics, which would make it a proper noun like the MC’s last name.
Swift also took a shot at Braun with the line “Robbers to the east.” On multiple occasions, Swift has accused Braun of stealing her life’s work.
Music lovers had a lot to say about the drama. A pro-Swift comment read: “Wait for a sec’ clowns to the west’ peace – Taylor Swift. Kanye West, clowns to the West.”
A music lover laughed and explained: “I’m so sorry, but I think I couldn’t ignore how Miss Taylor Swift roasted Kanye West, Scott Borchetta, and Scooter Braun with a peaceful and calming song. Clowns to the WEST, ???? I can’t. ???.”
Another supporter of the diva wrote: “In peace, Taylor Swift capitalized West and not east, and no one can convince me that she isn’t calling Kanye a clown. Thank u for coming to my ted talk #Folkore.”
It will be interesting to see if Swift will continue her offense on West in the near future.
