Evan Rachel Wood is very vocal, but she seems to be speechless after Vanessa Bryant made the decision to publicly defend her late husband and NBA legend, Kobe Bryant, after an old tweet from the Westworld atress caught her attention.
When Kobe Bryant died in a tragic helicopter crash with his daughter, Giana Bryant, the True Blood alum wrote this comment: “What has happened is tragic. I am heartbroken for Kobe’s family. He was a sports hero. He was also a rapist. And all of these truths can exist simultaneously.”
The grieving mother and wife responded to Evan Rachel Wood via her Instagram Stories, where she called her comments vile and disturbing.
She wrote: “This just came to my attention. Your false, insensitive, defamatory, and slanderous tweet on 1/26/20 is vile and disturbing, to say the least. Behavior like this is part of the reason why innocent black men go to jail for crimes they didn’t commit. An accusation doesn’t make someone guilty. YOU DON’T KNOW THE FACTS OF THE CASE.”
Evan Rachel Wood has thus far declined to answer Kobe Bryant’s wife. Wood was recently in the news after she revealed that she filed a police report against Lindsay Usich — the wife of her ex-partner, Marilyn Manson — last December in response to alleged threats made to “ruin her career.”
The 33-year-old actress shared some details of the police report on Instagram but did not reveal where she had filed it.
Wood wrote in an Instagram story that the report was filed on December 19 after she learned Los Angeles-based photographer Lindsay Usich was planning to expose “damaging photos” of her.
She said that the alleged threat was made to “shut her up” and destroy her career. Evan Rachel Wood shared one of the photos in question, which showed an underage Wood alongside Marilyn Manson after one of his concerts in Las Vegas during the time they were dating between 2007-2010.
Wood appears with a mustache drawn onto her face and is wearing a German-style military hat which was part of Manson’s act, according to her post.
She added that she had been intoxicated with alcohol and drugs by others at the party. Due to her age, she was unable to go to the casinos in Las Vegas and stayed in a hotel room for most of the evening.
Wood claimed other people were present and were drawing on her face and each other’s faces.
Recently, Wood accused 52-year-old Marilyn Manson — whose real name is Brian Warner — of abusing her for years and grooming her as a teen.
Following the allegations, another four women came forward and accused Manson of physical and emotional abuse, racism and antisemitism, and violent threats.
Despite Manson denying all the allegations against him, he has been dropped from TV shows, including American Gods, and by both his talent agency CAA and long-term manager Tony Ciulla.
