About one year ago, Meghan Markle made a simple comment that angered some and had others concerned for her mental well-being.
Back then, Prince Harry and his wife were doing an interview with ITV journalist Tom Bradby who at some point asked her if she was okay, and she responded by saying that as a new mom who is being scrutinized by the media, she was not really okay.
"Not many people have asked if I’m ok … it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes."

The comments went viral, and a year later, she addressed them while talking to a group of youngsters on Teenager Therapy podcast for World Mental Health Day.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex both agreed that it was difficult for them as new parents when they spoke with Bradby.
Meghan confirmed that she was privately struggling to be a good mother and live up to the expectations of being a member of the royal family. The former actress was raw and blunt on her podcasting debut — she said she was exhausted.
The Duchess of Sussex said that breastfeeding her then-newborn baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, played a role in her being tired and feeling vulnerable at the time.
Meghan said: “I was tired. I was just about to give Archie a bath. I was exhausted.” Harry added: “She was still breastfeeding at the time.”
She explained that her breastfeeding experience was comparable to a marathon because she had to participate in royal duties while caring for a baby.
She stated: “Oh, yeah, so a lot of people don’t know, it’s like running a marathon, so between every official engagement, I was running back to make sure our son was fed. And, yeah, it was a lot. But, at the very end, the journalist asked me, ‘Are you okay?’ And I didn’t realize that my answer would receive such an interest from around the world. Because I said well, thanks, people haven’t really asked me if I’m okay. I didn’t think about that answer. I just answered honestly because I was in a moment of vulnerability because I was tired because there was no presentation. It was just, here’s where I am, I’m a mom who’s with a four-and-a-half-month-old baby, and we are tired. But I think it speaks to the fact that the reason it resonated with people is because everyone wants to be asked if they’re okay.”
Meghan concluded by saying she is now in a great place in her life. Critics lashed out at her for sharing too much information about her life.
A commenter stated: “Someone needs to explain the concept of “TMI” to her. Imagine how those poor kids must have been cringing. ?”
She was also mom-shamed for revealing the intimate part of her life. This social media user explained that millions of new mothers breastfeed and do not complain about it.
The woman shared: “Does she know how many women really do breastfeed? And they don’t complain about it.”
This mom of two chimed in: “She should try it with two other children and dishes and laundry and driving and meals? I did it all with no help.”
Some observers also cringed when Meghan said she was the most trolled person on the planet last year.
