When Prince Harry announced that he was leaving London, he failed to take into account the pain and heartbreak he would cause some members of the royal family who would not see baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor very often.
It has been over a year since Prince Charles saw his youngest grandchild, and according to a royal insider, it has left him broken-hearted.
Prince Charles is not alone; Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are said to be devasted by the fact that they are missing Archie’s significant milestones, such as his first steps and words.
Archie, 18 months, left his native England with parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, last November.
The family briefly called Canada home before permanently settling in California. The power couple returned to the UK twice without Archie.
A royal insider said this about Prince Charles’s eagerness to spend time with the baby boy: “The Prince of Wales enjoyed popping into Frogmore Cottage to see his youngest grandchild and is sad that he hasn’t seen him for so long. He has missed much of his development since he is now growing up in the USA.”
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are also saddened by Archie’s absence, according to the source: “Other members of the family are very sad at not seeing him. Everyone really misses Archie – they feel it’s particularly sad for the Queen and Prince Philip. Harry always said he looked forward to raising his family with William’s – which of course, is not now happening.”
A Sussex insider said: “They are now in their own family home, which they haven’t had properly before. It’s theirs, it’s their forever home, where they are going to base themselves. Archie is moving about and is lively, and they’re having a great time.”
In a move that will further cause heartache and drama, Prince Harry and Meghan have reportedly revealed their intention to celebrate Christmas together with David Foster, far away from the Queen and Charles.
This has come as a public blow to the royal family, as it has brought up the implication that things are getting worse between the Queen, Prince Harry, and Meghan.
It is not known how the Queen is going to respond to the revelation, but she is likely not pleased with what is happening in the slightest.
It has been confirmed that both Meghan and Prince Harry have been very happy with their decision and have been looking forward to spending some time together with the hitmaker and away from the chaos of the British Royal Family.
