Halle Berry has taken to social media, where she posted a breathtaking photo modeling several gorgeous pieces of jewelry created by a French luxury brand.
In the photo, the Oscar winner has her honey-colored hair cascading on her shoulders. Halle Berry’s flawless skin glows in the photo where her arms are crossed to put the spotlight on the bracelets that cost between $3,000 and $5,000.
One fan penned this sweet comment: “That’s a divine photo, ma’am.” The divine photo comes after Berry scored a win in court.
Berry started paying reduced child support levels to her ex-partner, Gabriel Aubry, from this month as they co-parent their 13-year-old daughter, Nahla, together.
After taking to social media recently to brand the child support payment rules “outdated” and “extortion,” the 54-year-old actress has now renegotiated the monthly $16,000 payments down to $8,000.
She dated model Gabriel Aubrey, 44, for five years before they split in 2010. In 2008, they welcomed their daughter and only child together, Nahla.
Four years after they split, a court judge ordered Halle Berry to pay the monthly fees of $16,000 to her ex-partner, following their agreement to share joint custody of their daughter.
In the most recent negotiations, the former Bond actress agreed to pay $5,000 to Gabriel Aubry in legal fees he had acquired during the court battle, in addition to a backdated payment of $85,000.
Halle Berry will also carry on paying for the health insurance and private tuition fees of her daughter.
Posting to social media in recent weeks, she said that the rules around child support “no longer reflect the modern world” and sympathized with “those men” who feel they have been taken advantage of by the system.
Berry is now dating musician Van Hunt but has agreed with Aubry that she will pay additional support costs for Nahla if her income goes beyond $1.95 million annually.
She will also exchange income information with Aubry in a bid to keep their co-parenting arrangements fair.
Her social media post said she has been making the payments for ten years, and Berry seemed frustrated as she spoke of the shared responsibility of both men and women to look after their children and the way that some people “use the system” for their own gain.
The Monster’s Ball star explained: “It takes great strength every day to pay it. And BTW, it’s wrong, and it’s extortion! I’ve been paying it for a decade now. I feel if a woman or man is having to pay support that is way more than the reasonable needs to help SUPPORT the child, I think that is wrong!”
She continued: “I understand some parents (man or woman) may need help, but I also feel in these modern times both men and women have the responsibility to financially take care of their children and work hard and make every effort to do so.”
Berry appears ready to take on the system.
