Margot Robbie has spoken about her diet and lifestyle habits in a recent interview, revealing that she eats nutritious foods and focuses on workouts that she enjoys.
The Suicide Squad actress, who looks fantastic in all her bikini photos, spoke to Women’s Health UK magazine, where she shared some of her secrets to looking so good.
She is preparing to star as Barbie in an upcoming movie. She is getting ready to play the unrealistically tall and thin character by avoiding sweets and focusing on low carbohydrates on the glycaemic index (GI).
Talking about her morning eating habits, Margot Robbie, 30, said she starts the day with a breakfast of porridge before moving on to a smoothie later in the morning, which is designed to help boost immunity and health.
She explained: “Breakfast is usually porridge, and during the morning, I’ll have an immunity-boosting smoothie. I’ll normally have a chicken salad for lunch, and for dinner, I’ll tuck into a tuna steak with sweet potato.”
Her lunch consists typically of a chicken salad, while a typical dinner is tuna steaks with sweet potato – a low GI carb that has a wealth of vitamins and nutrients to support the body and mind.
Originally from Australia, Margot Robbie spent time in the UK, where she was introduced to drinking tea and has become “obsessed” with it.
She said she sips it throughout the day, even after moving to Los Angeles, where she now lives with her husband, Tom Ackerley, 31.
She shared: “It comes with a truffle cheese fondue, truffle aioli, and truffle glaze. But back when I called London home, I loved the Mexican restaurant and bar La Bodega Negra in Soho. Everything I ate there was amazing – and they whip up the best margarita I’ve ever had anywhere.”
However, she said she strays from her normal eating habits sometimes, occasionally choosing beef burgers, fries, and beer from her favorite US restaurant, Umami Burger.
Margot Robbie also praised La Bodega Negra in London, where “everything [she] ate…was amazing.”
Speaking about her workouts, the actress said she had been doing Pilates since 2013 and always feels better after a “good stretch,” but does not enjoy lifting weights — choosing instead to take up dance classes or go for a game of tennis with her friends.
She revealed: “[I] really got into Pilates when I moved to LA [in 2013] and always feel a lot better after a good stretch. I found boxing sessions and fighting practice for Suicide Squad really fun, but quickly realized I wasn’t so much a fan of lifting weights. When I’m not preparing for a role, I prefer to do workouts I really like, such as dance classes or playing tennis with friends.”
She is set to appear in the upcoming movie The Suicide Squad, due for release in August 2021.
