Recently, Buckingham Palace surprised royal fans by releasing two new photos of Prince Charles and his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in good spirits walking in Frogmore House’s gardens.
Both Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth smiled as they posed in a beautiful garden with flowers blooming for spring in the pictures.
Note that the pictures were taken days before the devastating passing of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
The very socially distanced photos were taken for Easter by photographer Chris Jackson who explained: “Very special to take this photograph of The Queen and The Prince of Wales in the historic grounds of Frogmore House that has been released tonight. It feels especially poignant as hopefully, we will ALL be seeing a bit more of [our] families over the coming days and weeks.”
It has now been revealed that there is a reason why Prince Charles and his mom met, but it will not be disclosed at the moment.
The world has been asked to be patient for a few weeks, which is when the Queen will reveal what took place that day.
This week, Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers explained that Her Majesty and her oldest son took part in a secret and special event, and all will be revealed in late April.
While appearing on the popular podcast, Pod Save The Queen, the royal expert explained: “They did have a special engagement which I’m not allowed to tell you about.”
When the writer was asked when the news behind the secret engagement would be known to the wider public, he explained that all would be revealed: “later this month.”
At the moment, no one knows what the royals will say, but that has not stopped royal fans and experts from speculating about her Majesty’s abdication or Prince Charles now playing a more prominent role in the monarchy. Some believe that Charles could be granted the title of “Prince Regent.”
The private meeting between Queen Elizabeth and the heir took place after it was confirmed that Charles, Prince of Wales, was summoned by his father, Duke of Edinburgh, for an emotional conversation about what he expects of him after his death.
During the heart-to-heart conversation, Prince Philip asked Prince Charles to keep an eye on the Queen and explained to him how he should lead the royal family.
Royal aides described the bedside conversation between the father and son as “full and frank” and “heartfelt.”
Moments after the news of Philip’s passing was confirmed, Prince Charles rushed to Windsor Castle to be by the Queen’s side during this difficult period.
In a heartfelt message, Prince Charles appeared in a tribute video where he spoke lovingly about Prince Philip.
The future King said: “I particularly wanted to say that my father, for I suppose the last 70 years, has given the most remarkable, devoted service to The Queen, to my family and to the country, but also to the whole of the Commonwealth. As you can imagine, my family and I miss my father enormously.”
He added: “He was a much loved and appreciated figure, and apart from anything else, I can imagine, he would be so deeply touched by the number of other people here and elsewhere around the world and the Commonwealth, who also, I think, share our loss and our sorrow.”
He thanked his father by saying: “My dear Papa was a very special person who I think above all else would have been amazed by the reaction and the touching things that have been said about him, and from that point of view, we are, my family, deeply grateful for all that. It will sustain us in this particular loss and at this particularly sad time. Thank you.”
The royal family has gone through many changes in recent years.
