It seems that Prince Charles will not need to wait for Prince Harry to publish his bombshell memoir for embarrassing information about his life to be revealed to the world.
A reporter recently shared that the future King of England is a fierce competitor who goes hard even against his two sons — Prince Harry and Prince William.
According to the journalist, Queen Elizabeth II‘s oldest son took things too far during a recent interview.
Sky‘s royal correspondent, Rhiannon Mills, explained what many other royal experts have already revealed — there is a real competition between the father and his two children.
In a sit-down with Prince Charles, Mills said that he refused to mention the causes that Prince Harry and Prince William were fighting for.
Prince Charles does not want to help his sons by drawing the media’s attention to the topics they are championing.
She said: “I think during that time you did have Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, Kensington Palace working in silos. That is something that has always fascinated me, it’s that the households obviously have to consult very closely on things – diaries, who is announcing what and when but in each household there is still this competitiveness about getting coverage for their cause, for the visits they’re doing.”
Host Amol Rajan interjected that it is rather surprising that the households do not back one another or even work hand in hand.
Rajan stated: “It was something I probably didn’t anticipate; you think this is a family, they would all be there championing each other’s causes. This theme, competition between the households, is one that experienced correspondents brought up independently. They raised it before I did, and they really wanted to convey how important it was.”
Mills brought up an interview that she did with Prince Charles where he dodged all questions about what his sons’ works.
She claimed:: “There is still this competitiveness, and it’s become very clear to me for example, when I’ve interviewed Prince Charles and asked him about his sons being involved in championing causes about young people and Charles sidestepped that. He didn’t want to talk about that.”
Another royal author recently spoke about the fierce competition and rivalry that go on between the trio.
In late winter 2021, in an interview on the TODAY show, famous writer Christopher Andersen said that the competitiveness in the British family had created a toxic environment.
He claimed that the three princes lived in a nest of vipers because they tried so hard to outdo one another.
Andersen added: “And they’re all in competition behind the scenes, and constantly pulling the rug out from each other and constantly leaking information. And so, it’s a very toxic environment. Somebody has described them as a nest of vipers, and I don’t think that’s really wrong.”
In early 2022, Prince Charles did a full 180 by publicly praising both of his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, for the work they have been doing to help protect the planet.
In an essay for Newsweek, he wrote: “As a father, I am proud that my sons have recognized this threat. Most recently, my elder son, William, launched the prestigious Earthshot Prize to incentivize change and help repair our planet over the next 10 years by identifying and investing in the technologies that can make a difference.”
He added, “And my younger son, Harry, has passionately highlighted the impact of climate change, especially in relation to Africa, and committed his charity to being net zero.”
The tensions in the British Royal Family have different layers.
