The hopes of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ever returning to England even as part-time working royals have been shoot down as pie in the sky by a royal expert.
For a brief time, it was claimed that when Prince Charles takes the throne, he might be inclined to call back Prince Harry and Markle in the Palace. The reason?
Prince Charles decided to slim down the Monarchy by keeping only the direct heirs to the throne and their families as working royals.
The future king’s significant changes have been putting a lot of pressure on Kate Middleton and Prince William, who are the youngest senior royals and have to spread themselves thin to keep up with the many royal engagements.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s workload got heavier in the past few months because of Andrew‘s embarrassing sex scandal and exit from royal life, Markle and Prince Harry’s “Megxit,” and Queen Elizabeth‘s health issues.
Royal author Tina Brown explained why Prince Charles would need Prince Harry and his family when his reign begins: “It’s looking a bit skeletal because they weren’t supposed to be losing Andrew or Harry, so a bit of a problem, that slimmed-down monarchy, at the moment.”
She went on to explain: “I think there is a great effort to try to make everybody focus on the heir, Charles, and William and Kate. But there is a lot of pressure on that. I do think at a certain point they are going to need Harry back, particularly probably after the Queen dies, because he was an asset.”
However, royal pundit Lady Colin Campbell does not believe that Prince Harry is an asset to the Monarchy.
She revealed that while Prince Charles has a lot of love for his son, she doubts that after the disastrous interviews and upcoming bombshell tell-all book, he will not propose the six-month royal and six-month independent contract/arrangement to the Sussexes.
She addressed the topic on her YouTube channel by saying: “My understanding is that the Prince of Wales loves his son and would dearly have loved to be able to mend fences with him.”
Campbell went on to say why the royal family would not take that risky bet with Prince Harry and Markle and added: “Also, I have great reservations that there is any six-month in, six-month here, six-month there actually planned. I don’t see how it would work. I don’t think it’s gonna happen. Maybe back and forth, but six months here, six months there, except as a precursor to a divorce; I’m sorry, I don’t see it happening. I really don’t think it’s going to happen. I think it’s ‘pie in the sky.'”
This week, a source close to Markle revealed that she and Prince Harry are working on many exciting projects behind closed doors, and they do not have any interest in returning to England.
