Now that Joe Biden has announced that he is running for reelection, he has put his potential rival, Donald Trump, in a delicate situation where he is forced to make tough decisions.
The former president was the first Republican to take the leap and break the news that he was throwing his hat in the fight for the White House.
The real estate mogul, who is battling multiple court cases, is determined to win the primary on the Republican side. He has been campaigning hard, raising money, and weighing his options when selecting a vice president.
Political pundits heavily betted on Trump, calling on Nimarata “Nikki” Haley to be his running for the 2024 presidential election.
Haley seemed ideal for the post because she is already in the race and served in the Trump administration as ambassador to the United Nations for two years.
However, after listening to his team, Trump has ruled against the governor of South Carolina as VP and is more inclined to strike a deal with his arch-enemy, Ron DeSantis, for the high-profile gig.
A Trumpworld source revealed to Page Six: “Some of his supporters are suggesting he make a deal with DeSantis to make him VP, and he’s listening but hasn’t agreed. Supporters say the VP offer [would] stop DeSantis from opposing [Trump] and offer a ‘youthful conservative vigor’ to the slot, which Biden doesn’t have.”
The insider explained that the Governor of Florida would benefit Trump’s campaign, which had needed help to attract deep-pocket donors.
The staff member claimed: “DeSantis would also bring in big money to the campaign. However, so far, there is no deal yet. DeSantis wants to raise money and test the waters, but what he really wants to do is run in 2028 after Trump wins or loses — with him or without him. It’s early days, but some donors are pushing for a partnership.”
This week, Trump spoke to Greg Kelly on Newsmax, where he said this about DeSantis: “Look, right now, I’m very down on him … I’m very disappointed in him because I’m a loyal person, maybe to a fault. I’m a loyal person, and somebody gets you into the office, and then you’re telling people, ‘Well, I don’t know if I’ll run against the president’… You know, I mean, life shouldn’t have to work that way, but it does, and that’s OK, too.”

Privately when Trump is playing golf at Mar-A-Lago, he is telling his friends how he truly feels about DeSantis.
Friends of Donald Trump said: “He is smiling and doing fist-pumps on the golf course. He’s telling friends he already has got the nomination locked in with Republicans and that De Santis is ‘falling like a rock.'”
DeSantis, who is on a world tour visiting Japan, England, South Korea, and Israel, has yet to announce his 20204 primary campaign.
The latest polls show that 58 percent of potential Republican primary voters back Trump, and only 21 percent support DeSantis.
Trump is also attacking the Florida governor relentlessly.
