Prince Harry‘s shocking revelations have destroyed his relationships with the Royal Family. However, they have also hurt Prince William‘s standing with King Charles III and Queen Camilla, according to a veteran royal author.
In his best-selling book Spare, Prince Harry crucified his stepmother for destroying his parents’ marriage. However, he admitted that he was not the only one who held a grudge against Queen Camilla.
Prince Harry put the shameful spotlight on his older brother, Prince William. According to the British soldier, Prince William never wanted Queen Camilla to marry their father, King Charles.
The heir to the throne fought tooth and nail for Queen Camilla not to have the fancy title that she holds today. The Duke of Sussex explained that he and Prince William begged their father not to marry his mistress for the sake of their late mother.
Prince Harry wrote: “All that we asked in return was that he did not marry her. ‘You do not need to remarry,’ we begged him. A wedding would … make the whole country, the whole world, compare our mother and Camilla, something that nobody wanted.”
A close friend of Queen Camilla has said that she was hurt by the revelations. Christopher Andersen, author of The King, told Fox News this week that Her Majesty was shocked to discover that Prince William reached out to his father and requested that he cancel their wedding.
The Queen must have been offended and in pain to learn that His Majesty and his sons kept that secret for 18 years.
He told the media outlet: “Camilla was understandably livid over Harry’s characterization of her as a ‘villain’ in his book. I think it also came as a total shock to Camilla to learn that both William and Harry begged their father not to marry her. Charles has been sitting on that little tidbit for 18 years.”
According to the commentator, Queen Elizabeth II would have maybe forbidden the wedding if she knew how Prince Harry and Prince William felt about the relationship.
He said: “If the late Queen Elizabeth had known how strongly William and Harry felt about it, perhaps she would not have reluctantly agreed to let Charles and Camilla marry in 2005.”
Andersen concluded that Queen Camilla would have listened to her heart even if she knew the truth about Prince Harry and Prince William’s brutal demand.
He stated: “If Camilla had known that the boys were so vehemently opposed to the marriage — well, knowing how much she wanted to be Charles’ wife, she probably would have done it anyway.”
During the coronation celebrations, Prince Harry and Prince William confirmed they were not in good places with Queen Camilla.
Prince Harry attended a private dinner where he only spoke to King Charles. Prince William delivered a lengthy and passionate speech at the coronation concert, where he praised and congratulated his father many times but never mentioned his stepmother.
