Since Prince Harry and his spouse, Meghan Markle, took part in “Megxit,” a huge amount of pressure has been lifted off the shoulders of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The future Queen and the heir have been riding high, enjoying a rise in popularity. The couple and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are always praised for their behavior and wholesome activities.
The British people have stepped forward to proclaim the duo as perfect rock stars who always represent the monarchy well. However, this week, taxpayers and some royal watchers have decided to bring them down a peg.
Prince William and Kate Middleton faced criticism for their lengthy vacation. It seems that the power couple has taken the past 13 weeks off — no royal engagements and no charity events.
There are no reports of Prince William and Kate Middleton giving a phone call to a charity worker or a person in need.
This summer, it seems that Prince William was truly committed to his vacation, which is why he refused to travel to Australia to support the British soccer team that reached the final against Spain.
According to royal historian Richard Palmer, Prince William and his wife have left many angry because they appear privileged.
The veteran commentator stated that some are baffled by Wales’s endless summer retreat when it is a well-known fact that the monarchy is short-staffed because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle retired from their royal duties and a majority of the senior members are over the age of 75.
Palmer said: “I do think that is an issue for them as well. They’re very popular, they’re a huge asset to the UK, but there have been eyebrows raised in other parts of the royal household about the amount of time they’re not doing official engagements. It may well be that they come under a little bit of pressure to up their number of engagements.”
He reminded the Prince and Princess of Wales to read the room, so they could understand that struggling families who have gone years without a proper holiday are paying for their luxurious lifestyles.
He told the Royal Round Up podcast: “There aren’t many families where both the father and mother are able to have 12 or 13 weeks with their children on all of their school breaks. I think there’s an awful lot of goodwill towards them but they do need to keep an eye on that.”
The couple will end their vacation in early September by taking part in events to remember the late Queen.
