For the past couple of months, Meghan Markle has been teasing the world with a big return to social media.
First, Markle confirmed in an interview in The Cut that she has a secret — she is relaunching her Instagram account — and that was in 2022.
Markle confessed: “Do you want to know a secret? I’m getting back… on Instagram.”
In the early days of the summer of 2023, a source close to Markle told The Daily Mail that she purchased the @Meghan and the launch of a business venture via the platform was imminent.
Multiple media outlets ran stories explaining that Prince Harry‘s wife would become a top earner like Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez.
A source close to her team told the paper: “Yes, that’s her. Expect an announcement very soon. She’s coming back.”
An insider also told the Mail: “Everyone in Hollywood is talking about the relaunch being imminent. Meghan has never made any secret of the fact she wants to return to Instagram.”
Meghan Markle’s page already has 128,000 followers despite having no posts. It shows that there is a real interest in Markle, and she can generate massive income with the page.
So, why is it taking Markle so much time to jump on the opportunity to make millions of dollars on Instagram?
According to one royal expert, the answer is Prince Harry. According to the former Fox News writer and royal journalist Neil Sean, Markle is dancing around the idea because of Prince Harry’s disdain for social media.
In multiple interviews and speeches, Prince Harry has explained that he finds social media toxic and dangerous, especially for children, and promised to tackle the issue.
Speaking at a South Ealing YMCA in London Prince Harry previously said: “Social media is more addictive than drugs and alcohol, yet it’s more dangerous because it’s normalized and there are no restrictions to it.”
Sean explained: “The reasons why Megan has delayed that instant return to Instagram—do you remember when she was going to be coming back to social media with a bang? Well, you can’t trumpet the fact that you’re coming back to social media with a bang if you’re basically saying behind the scenes, “No, we can’t talk about that; you know it’s a terrible situation. And as we know, Prince Harry’s already stated that social media is toxic, and we told you exclusively that he wasn’t very keen on her return. Either way, her return to social media is imminent.”
Markle is facing a big dilemma.
