Tom Cruise shares a daughter with Katie Holmes — Suri Cruise, who will turn 18 in April.
The famous actor never speaks about his daughter because he is not in contact with her and therefore knows nothing about her.
However, Katie Holmes, who raised Suri Cruise as a single mother, often beams with pride when talking about her only child.
The Dawson’s Creek actress has on numerous occasions shared some of the special moments that she had with the Suri Cruise that Tom Cruise will never know or experience.
The teenager seems to be interested in following in her parents’ footsteps and joining the entertainment business. Katie Holmes has revealed that Suri Cruise who is passionate about acting and filmmaker has contributed to some of her projects.
Suri Cruise has thus far delighted her mother by lending her talents to Katie Holmes’s films, Alone Together and Rare Objects.
Katie Holmes did an interview with Glamour in which she confessed that it has been “very meaningful” and emotional to work with her daughter.
The actress confessed that it was a special moment because it was beautiful to create something with a person she loves dearly.
She shared: “I hope she always does something in my films. I always ask her. But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, that you have these projects, and you become a family with people. And it’s this safe, beautiful, creative space. So it comes out of love for me to include someone who I love dearly. That’s how I like to work. I like to have that kind of feeling. It was very meaningful to me to have her there because she’s my heart.”
Katie Holmes was overjoyed to have Suri Cruise sing “Blue Moon” in the opening credits and praised her during a sit-down with Yahoo! Entertainment, revealing that she is talented.
She said: “She’s very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it and I let her do her thing. I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her.”
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were married from 2006 to 2012. Cruise revealed that he was forced to pick between his family and the Church of Scientology, and he obviously devoted himself to the latter.
While Cruise is paying child support for his youngest daughter, he has no connection with her and has played no meaningful part in her life.
Some are holding on to a shred of hope that Cruise will make a move to see his daughter and create a lasting bond with her.
