It has taken King Charles III almost one year to discover how hard he hit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with his decision to evict them from their London home.
His Majesty, fed up and pained by the release of Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare, decided in early 2023 that it was time to cut all ties with the runaway royals.
King Charles made a phone call to Montecito, and what followed was a heated exchange with Prince Harry, described by some as a screaming match, once he announced that he and Markle were evicted from Frogmore Cottage.
The couple was told they had a few months before their belongings would be packed and shipped to them in California. This week, the eviction story resurfaced after The Daily Mail obtained court documents confirming that Prince Harry sought revenge on his father by using the eviction date to establish his permanent residence in California.
Note that Prince Harry and Markle exited the royal business in 2020. The leak of Prince Harry’s revengeful move prompted those with insider knowledge of the situation to spill the tea.
In an interview with The Mirror, royal biographer Tom Quinn revealed that The Duke of Sussex viewed the eviction as a “slap in the face” and “vindictive.”
The royal expert explained: “The story of Harry’s change of residence may have come out only in the past few days, but in fact, Harry quietly changed his primary residence as long ago as June 29, 2023 – on the very day he and Meghan were evicted from Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate.”
The commentator believes that Prince Harry picked that date because it was the final provocation and added: “That’s the date given in new business documents filed in the US this week. At the time, few people realized what a slap in the face the eviction from Frogmore felt like for Harry — it was the last straw.”
Quinn went on to drop a bombshell revelation about the heated exchange between the father and son. While Prince Harry was screaming at King Charles for also booting his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, from the cottage, he was also crying.
The author claimed: “Harry was absolutely furious and in tears about being evicted from Frogmore – he felt his father had no right to do it and that it was purely vindictive.”
The prince is trying to build a new life outside of his royal roots.
