Donald Trump has many party members on edge because of his unpredictable ways. The real estate mogul is unafraid of ending things and jumping head-first into new beginnings.
As a man, he has parted ways with several wives, quickly remarried, and started new families. His former wives include Ivana Trump and Marla Maples, and he is currently married to Melania Trump.
As a businessman, he would fire any staff member he deemed unqualified or incompetent to grow his empire. Donald Trump is the candidate who changed campaign managers and advisors the most while running for president in American political history.
Trump first hired Corey Lewandowski, then Paul Manafort, and eventually Kellyanne Conway as campaign managers for his 2016 presidential campaign.
His administration was a revolving door, and he dismissed aides, secretaries, advisers, and other top officials as he saw fit. Many of the officials, who clashed with Trump, were quick to resign.
The list includes National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, and Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price.
Reports have revealed that Donald Trump, who is forever changing his mind, is having second thoughts about his VP pick.
When the former president selected Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as vice president, the Democratic ticket included Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as running mates. Biden has since stepped down, and Harris is the candidate to beat.
Trump and his allies now have second thoughts, citing his inexperience and past wild comments. Some seasoned politicians are still determining Vance’s ability to sway swing voters.
Atlantic staff writer Tim Alberta, who broke the story about the panicking Trump campaign, shared: “Most striking thing I heard from Trump allies yesterday was the second-guessing of JD Vance—a selection, they acknowledged, that was [born] of cockiness, meant to run up margins with the base in a blowout rather than persuade swing voters in a nail-biter.”
The dust seemed to have settled, and Trump decided to move forward, block his nose, and drink the dirty water with Vance on the ticket.
However, Professor Allan Lichtman of American University, often called the Nostradamus of politics, shared some words that will undoubtedly rattle the former president.
Lichtman is famous for accurately predicting the winner of nearly every presidential election since President Ronald Reagan‘s reelection in 1984.
Lichtman thinks that one of the reasons that Harris has the advantage over Trump is because of Vance. He claimed that Vance is a disastrous pick and added: “I don’t think the VP pick turns the election, but a VP pick is incredibly important. That’s why JD Vance was such a disastrous pick; he would be a horror show as president.”
He continued: “That’s the point of the VP pick. You know, quite often, vice presidents have become president upon the death or resignation of a president.”
This has happened on nine occasions in US history due to the death or resignation of the president. Via Newsweek, the political expert explained that Vance, who went viral for his comments about childless cat ladies, might be more controversial than Trump.
He said: “In some ways, his views are even more extreme than those of Donald Trump. For example, on aid to Ukraine or wanting a national prohibition on abortion with no exception for rape, incest, or health of the mother. And Vance has become a lightning rod for criticism.”
Harris announced her VP pick, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, this week after reports claimed that she had selected Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro. Other potential picks for Harris included Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly and Kentucky’s Andy Beshear.
According to federal laws, Trump and Harris have until September to file all official documents, including the name of the VP, which will be printed on ballots nationwide.
This deadline is crucial as it marks the point at which the VP pick becomes official and cannot be changed without significant legal and logistical hurdles.
Trump’s unpredictable nature and the fact this is the first TikTok election means anything is possible, including Vance being removed from the ticket.
If President Biden can pull the biggest game-changer in this election, Donald Trump could undoubtedly attempt to top him.
