Beyonce is under major backlash as she did not stand up to cheer for Joaquin Phoenix when he won the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards that took place on Sunday night.
Mr. Phoenix took the prestigious award home for his portrayal of the popular DC villain, the Joker in the movie by the same name.
The “Baby Boy” singer attracted a lot of attention as she remained in her seat, while other celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen DeGeneres, and Reese Witherspoon had all been encouraging their colleague for his success.
The lack of support from the famous diva was quickly condemned by the public, and many of the viewers of the prestigious show took to social media to express their disappointment.
A comment even stated that although it was understandable to make a statement, it was poor sportsmanship for someone who deserved recognition.
The person finished his post by saying the 38-year-old pop music superstar was entitled and arrogant and was a joke as an actress.
Meanwhile, fans of the “Sorry” singer defended her and claimed that it was not necessary for her action to mean something serious, and it was probably not comfortable for her to stand up because of her attire.
However, Beyonce’s not cheering for Phoenix’s win was not the only fault she made during the prestigious event, as the music star arrived one hour late in the company of her husband, Jay-Z, and the power couple also offended others by bringing their own alcohol to the big gathering, and she was slammed for that too.
She responded to that drama by taking to social media and sharing photos of the pricey drink.
One fan had this to say: “I don’t know if it’s moisturized or sweat on her skin, but it’s shining like silk ?I’ve never seen a more perfect face ?”
Another commenter claimed: “The champagne in the bucket of champagne is a big flex queen. The jewels on the gloves took me out ?God was not playing around when he made you.”
A third person shared: “The glove detail!! I love that. You look so pretty! Are these jeweled gloves⁉️ I STAN‼️moment!!!! Girl yes!!! Ideally placed as if to be her nails. Just googled, that champagne is $600 a bottle. Very nice, Ms. Carter… ?”
Beyonce has spoken recently about finding freedom in the power of “no,” the mother of three no longer feels the need to say yes to everything and everyone.
