In the past months, there has been a lot of drama surrounding Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but this week, they finally shared some happy news.
The former power couple has been going through a very lengthy divorce process that seemed to get nastier by the day.
They have also been fighting in court over the custody of their children. Pitt has asked for 50/50 custody to be put in place.
Meanwhile, Jolie is doing all she can to protect her family, especially after Pitt brought a new girlfriend, Nicole Poturalski, into the complicated picture.
Pitt went as far as dragging some of Jolie’s former co-stars into the custody drama. The exes have hit pause on the bitter fighting to announce their new Champagne house, Fleur de Miraval.
The fancy drink is from their famous Château Miraval in France, (the duo is also at war over the multi-million dollar estate.)
Pitt happily said in a statement: “For me, Champagne conjures up feelings of celebration, quality, prestige, and luxury. But rosé Champagne is still relatively unknown. Backed by our success with Miraval in Provence, I wanted us to try to create the defining brand of rosé Champagne, focusing all our efforts on just this one color. The result is spectacular, and I’m very proud of it.”
Andreas Larsson, who was elected the World’s Best Sommelier, tasted the Champagne and had this to say about it: “Fleur de Miraval shows a very gentle and bright rosé color, a vivid mousse with fine bubbles. The nose starts out elegantly – layered and nuanced with chalky notes, roasted hazelnut, marzipan, fresh butter, pink citrus, and lemongrass. After some time in the glass, the Pinot enters with crushed raspberry, cherry, and pain d’ épice notes. The palate is nicely built, showing great flavor intensity and invigorating freshness. It’s classically bone dry (4,5 grams of dosage) with a chalky presence, balanced by a mellow creaminess. Flavors of marzipan, confit de citron, and peach with layers of mature nuttiness and fine pastry. It is elegantly built with great persistence and precision. Drinks truly well today but should certainly improve from further cellaring. Score: 95 points.”
Pitt and Jolie have something to celebrate because the high score of 95 points places Fleur de Miraval among the top three rosé champagnes by Larsson. Fleur de Miraval will be available on October 15.
Some fans are now hoping the happy news will translate into more compromises when it comes to the divorce.
