After her brutal exit from The View, Meghan McCain is now grabbing headlines by blasting her former friend and confident, President Joe Biden.
For the past few weeks, the former TV host has taken to social media and did a few interviews where she destroyed Biden for the chaotic US withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The decision to end the 20-year war, (an agreement previously signed by former President Donald Trump with the Taliban), led to the killing of thirteen American soldiers.
Biden addressed the nation with a speech where he paid tribute to the fallen servicemen while commemorating the withdrawal as an “extraordinary success.”
The daughter of the late Sen. John McCain, who was a close friend of Biden, took issue with the speech and shared a handful of tweets where she made her anger known.
Meghan McCain said that she did not “recognize this man,” and added: “This is extremely difficult for me to say: I once thought I truly knew Joe Biden and he helped me through pain and grief, for which I am grateful. This man on tv giving this speech. I do not recognize this man. God help our country. God help the Americans we have abandoned.”
Many backed Meghan McCain and helped her slam, Biden. However, others attacked her and called her a hypocrite for not going after Republicans when they fail at their jobs.
Late last month, McCain jumped on Instagram, where she called the man who consoled her after her father passed away “incompetent” and an “embarrassment.”
She said in a lengthy post: “I am furious our President was so incompetent not to see what every expert on the planet could have seen coming. I am furious for my friends and family who have been fighting in these wars since I was 16 (many who have lost limbs, had their life terrorized by PTSD from their experiences in war and deployments, or worse). I am furious seeing our allies and innocent Afghan citizens who trusted us are being left to be slaughtered or so desperate to escape the pure evil the Taliban will bring in that they are falling out of f—ing planes,” McCain wrote on Instagram earlier this month.
She went on to say: “This is not who America is, this is not the values this country was founded in. Our veterans deserve better. The innocent Afghan people and our allies and translators who have stood by us for the past 20 years deserve better. The shame, dishonor, and embarrassment the Biden administration has brought to our country will take generations to undo. Not to mention our standing in the world and the cruel reality that the likelihood of another significant domestic terror attack has not risen to the highest levels since 9/11 and will usher in ISIS 3.0.”
Recently, more lights were shed on McCain’s abrupt departure from The View. It is a pretty well-known fact at this point that Meghan McCain was at odds with some of her colleagues during her work on The View.
However, it looks like fans were not aware of the full gravity of the situation at all, as there was a lot more going on behind the scenes than most of them assumed.
Recent revelations made by the show’s co-hosts have shed some light on the situation, explaining why she was facing such severe dislike among her coworkers.
According to sources, even Whoopi Goldberg, who was traditionally seen as calm and difficult to irritate, was nearing the edge of her nerves because of the toxic atmosphere.
There were reportedly various exchanges behind the scenes that painted the situation in an even more negative light, making it clear that there was no hope for reconciliation between the media personalities.
In the end, nobody involved in the production apparently wanted to work with McCain any longer, and the situation reached a critical point where she had to leave the program.
There are still lots of unknowns about how this all went down, and it is entirely possible that observers are still missing some parts of the picture.
However, for the time being, it does not seem like McCain will be engaging the show’s hosts in any conversations on the public front, at least not any positive ones.
