Could there be a repeat of 2020 in American politics? If Joe Biden has his way, the answer is a big yes, and Donald Trump is all for it.
In a new interview, President Joe Biden was asked if he plans to run for reelection in 2024.
The Democrat from Delaware, 79, said that two elements would decide if he throws his hat in the ring again.
Biden revealed if his health and fate permit, he will make a bid for the White House.
Sitting down with David Muir, President Biden was asked if he intends to seek a second term, and he quickly responded by saying: “Yes.”
He went on to talk about the two factors that will determine what he does in the future by saying: “I’m a great respecter of fate. Fate has intervened in my life many, many times. If I’m in the health I’m in now – I’m in good health – then, in fact, I would run again.”
The journalist brought up former Donald Trump’s name by saying that there is a huge possibility that he will attempt to seek the highest office in the land.
Trump went up against Biden in the 2020 presidential election and lost despite a hard-fought campaign and competitive race that delivered nail-biting results spread out on several days due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
When Biden was asked about the possibility of having a rematch against Trump again, he laughed and said: “You’re trying to tempt me now.”
He went on to say: “Sure, why would I not run against Donald Trump if he were the nominee? That would increase the prospect of running.”
Trump has hinted during his most recent interviews that his political career is far from over.
Sources close to the bombastic political figure, including Bill O’Reilly, have revealed that he wants his old job back.
Trump’s communication director, Taylor Budowich, was happy to respond to Biden’s challenge.
He told the Daily Mail that Biden is a failure and Trump looks forward to the matchup and added: “No one has done more to make the case for Trump 2024 than Joe Biden. His policies are destroying the nation, and if he did not run, his entire party would be left holding the pieces of his abject failure. The contrast of President Trump’s America First and the Democrats America Last has never been more stark.”
Biden is the oldest person ever to be elected as U.S. president. Before that, it was Trump who had been inaugurated at the age of 70.
