Tom Cruise Went Through A Controversial Process With The Church Of Scientology To Divorce Nicole Kidman And Later Marry Katie Holmes

Tom Cruise Nicole Kidman Katie Holmes Marriage

A new book from a former Scientologist that partly focuses on Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman revealed why their high-profile marriage failed.

Mike Rinder, the author of A Billion Years: My Escape From a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology, lifts the veil on Hollywood’s biggest romance.

He explained that the top heads in the controversial Church of Scientology, who fought to get Kidman, were the same people who conspired to get her out when she started opening Cruise’s eyes and changing his mind.

According to Rinder, Cruise fell in love with the talented actress when they were filming Days of Thunder, and church leader David Miscavige went on a mission to make his desires a reality.

Miscavige and his people worked diligently to convince Tom Cruise’s first wife, Mimi Rogers, to accept a divorce.

Cruise got his wish and married Kidman and Miscavige served as his best man.

However, things took a turn that displeased David Miscavige while Tom Cruise and his wife were filming Stanley Kubrick‘s controversial movie, Eyes Wide Shut.

Miscavige believed that Kidman made the huge mistake of pulling Cruise away from the Church of Scientology, so he took drastic action.

According to the new book, Miscavige flew Marty Rathbun, a high-profile church exec, to London. Rathbun’s goal was to audit the legendary actor.

It implied that Cruise had to go through a thorough process where he revisited the events of his life to relieve negativity and reach a level of “clear,” according to Page Six.

Rinder revealed in the book: “Cruise was gradually drawn back into the world of Scientology, but the process created a distance between [Cruise] and Nicole.”

According to the whistleblower, while Nicole Kidman was a member of the Church of Scientology, she was never as devoted as her then-husband.

One possible reason might be that the actress’s father was a famous psychologist and academic.

The author stated: “Kidman had been brought into the church by Cruise years before but never expressed particular eagerness for her Scientology courses or auditing.”

He went on to reveal: “Had she not been Mrs. Tom Cruise, she would not have been eligible to participate in OT levels at all due to her familial connection to psychiatry.”

Mike Rinder stated that the Church of Scientology felt threatened by Kidman’s immense influence and took drastic action to protect their most famous and important asset.

It is alleged that the head of the church hired a not-so-clean PI to dig and spy on Kidman.

Rinder claimed: “Rathbun worked with [Hollywood lawyer] Bert Fields to hire infamous PI Anthony Pellicano to spy on Nicole and tap her phone.”

According to Page Six, Pellicano was in prison for more than ten years for “a host of offenses including wiretapping, racketeering, conspiracy and illegal possession of explosives and grenades.”

A church spokesperson slammed the book via Page Six: “The Church never ordered or participated in any illegal wiretapping. Mike Rinder is an inveterate liar who seeks to profit from his dishonesty. He supports himself by orchestrating the harassment of his former Church and its leader through false police reports, incendiary propaganda, and fraudulent media stories.”

The author said that the church was salivating when Cruise and Kidman filed for divorce.

He revealed: “When Tom and Nicole divorced, Miscavige was happy that the ‘negative influence’ of Nicole was no longer dragging Tom away. Cruise thereafter became more fervent in his vocal public support of Scientology and Miscavige.”

Tom Cruise went on to marry his third wife, Katie Holmes. The Undoing actress and ex-husband, Tom Cruise share two children, Bella, 28, and Connor, 26.

Leah Remini revealed in her Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology memoir that she shared a shuttle with Cruise and Kidman’s children on the day the action star wed Katie Holmes.

She asked the brother and sister about their mother, and Bella said she was a SP.

According to reports, Scientology believes that a SP or a suppressive person “is someone deemed as an enemy by the church and who must be silenced or destroyed.”

Bella allegedly responded by: “Not if I have a choice. Our mom is a f–king SP.”

Kidman told The Sun this about her relationship with her grown Scientologist children: “Motherhood is about the journey. There are going to be incredible peaks and valleys, whether you are an adopted mother or a birth mother. What a child needs is love.”

Cruise has never left.
