Brad Pitt and his permanently estranged ex-wife have been waging a war against each other that seems to go into deeper and darker territories with each passing year.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had a passionate romance for over a decade. The duo split dramatically in 2016 after an ugly altercation while on a plane, which reportedly involved Pitt and one of their children.
Jolie blamed Pitt’s addiction and anger problems for the end of the romance. Pitt has denied the accusations.
The couple’s six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne — have shown unwavering loyalty to their mother in this lengthy battle.
They have all cut contact with Pitt and have dissociated from him by dropping his last name. However, it has been revealed that Jolie’s war with Pitt goes further than anyone could have imagined.
A source close to Pitt has confirmed to The Daily Mail that Brad Pitt’s parents, William and Jane Pitt, have not seen their six grandchildren for almost eight years.
The insider claimed that the former couple’s ongoing divorce drama has destroyed the relationship between their grandparents and grandchildren.
Jolie, who has custody of the children and is comfortable with the estrangement, is not doing anything to change the situation.
The insider stated: “Brad Pitt’s parents have not been able to see their beloved grandchildren for around eight years amid the ongoing divorce and legal battle between Brad and Angelina.”
The source revealed that the situation deeply saddens William and Jane, as they were once very close to their grandchildren.
There are dozens of photos online of the grandparents spending quality time with their grandchildren when they were younger.
The person in the know said: “The doting grandparents had been a very present fixture in the children’s lives before Brad’s marriage broke down, with the duo often pictured enjoying quality time with them. Prior to the separation, they were a part of the kids’ lives and they all spent a lot of time together. It is just heartbreaking to see that this is no longer the case.”
With the grandparents in their 80s, the need for them to spend time with their grandchildren becomes more pressing. The source shared: “It is one thing for the kids to not see their father, but for Jane and Bill to not have any contact with their precious grandkids is sad. They are in their 80s and to think that they would never be able to spend time with the kids again is just unbelievable.”
Many are baffled by Jolie’s decision because she lovingly spoke about William and Jane being wonderful grandparents to her first two adopted children.
Jolie stated: “When I first met them, I came in with two adopted children from other countries, and I didn’t know how they were going to be. But they are equally loving with them.”
The nasty battle will continue.
