Ahead of the coronation ceremony that is set to take place on May 6, King Charles will announce a significant change to Camilla, Queen Consort’s title.
King Charles’s second wife will be known as simply Queen or The Queen and will drop Consort from her name.
Daily Express royal Correspondent Richard Palmer recently did an interview and explained that while Buckingham Palace has yet to make an official announcement, a significant change is imminent.
He revealed: “No official word from the Palace on that, but a change is on the horizon. Some papers refer to her as the Queen. I think they will drop the Consort at some point. Every Queen Consort has just been known as the Queen.”
The royal reporter went on to explain that Camilla, Queen Consort, has worked diligently for almost two decades to repair her reputation as the other woman who brought numerous scandals to the Royal Family.

In the past, other spouses of English Kings have received the privilege of having Consort removed from their names — including Queen Mary and Queen Alexandra.
The journalist and royal commentator also revealed that it would depend on how the public reacts to the idea of King Charles’s spouse being known as simply Queen.
However, he concluded by saying that King Charles would bestow great honor on his spouse, despite Prince Harry’s revelations and accusations.
He said: “A case of putting some distance between her death and how Camilla is described. By the coronation, they will just be calling her the Queen.”
