It has been a heck of a week for King Charles III and the rest of the Royal Family with the publication of Endgame.
The book went heavy on dirty secrets and nasty revelations, but it caused far more damage when the Dutch translation accidentally claimed that King Charles and Kate Middleton made racist remarks about Meghan Markle‘s unborn son.
The drama around the topic of the racist royals went viral after Piers Morgan defied his close friends in the monarchy by naming names live on British TV.
However, the worst is yet to come for the Royal Family. Many royal watchers have predicted that Meghan Markle will set the record straight about the racist royals.
After all, it is her story to tell. Markle, while pregnant with her first child, went through anxiety and depression that led to suicidal thoughts because of the pressure, negative, and racist comments from the media, and other people she declined to name in the Oprah Winfrey interview.
Just like Prince Harry did with Spare, Meghan Markle will drop a book and give her account of what happened during these private conversations.
Royal biographer Tom Bower shared via GB News: “I do believe that Meghan is writing her book, and I do believe that will eventually come out. That will be their meal ticket when the Netflix money goes.”
Bower continued by saying that King Charles should condemn Markle’s lies and added: “That’ll be a huge sensation because Meghan has, what she says, will be damning of the royal family, very difficult. And that’s why I’ve always felt that King Charles and the Wales’s have not handled this properly. They should be much more on the front foot. They should actually condemn the lies and the rest that are put out in these sorts of books.”
While most royal experts see it as Markle using the biggest royal scandals to score points and make money, others believe that it could also open the door for England to have a long-overdue uncomfortable conversation on race.
In a piece written by a royal expert, Jennifer Newton, she revealed that, like all scandals, it will blow over but also noted that the charge of racism will not simply vanish.
Writing for The Mirror, royal journalist Jennifer Newton revealed: “Omid‘s book is yet another reminder that the monarchy did not do enough to protect Meghan, Britain’s first working royal woman of color, from racist smears. We will never know the truth of that exchange about unborn Archie – I expect the Royal family will stick to ‘recollections may vary’ – but a constructive conversation with the couple about their concerns is long overdue.”
She continued: “More broadly, the optics aren’t great: beyond the ‘terribly white’ balcony at the coronation, (why couldn’t they have included some pageboys and girls from the Commonwealth?), Buckingham Palace’s admission it is ‘not where it would like to be’ on staff diversity says it all. At the last count, just 9.7 percent of employees were from an ethnic minority in a city where over 40 percent of the population are non-white. Not good enough. If this makes for uncomfortable reading at home, it will prove far more damaging in many of Charles’ other realms. William insisted ‘we are very much not a racist family’. Now they need to prove it. Actions speak louder than words.”
Markle might sell more books than her husband.
Maybe I’m too old now but for 2 people to have a private conversation about how dark the unborn baby’s skin may or may not be isn’t racist it’s just asking the other person which ever one it may be asking someone else’s opinion but if it is racist then I would think that over half of the people in the world are guilty of being racist towards megan over that question I know that I talked to my partner about it but the conversation only lasted as long as it takes to speak those 8/10 words and are you telling me that harry and megan never talked about it because if they did then surely that makes them racist as well
