According to one of her interviews, Meghan Markle arrived in the Royal Family with little research. After marrying Prince Harry, the former American actress had many grandiose ideas in mind.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond claims Markle unhappily stumbled on some heavy truths. Markle was faced with the monarchy’s strict protocols and inflexible traditions.
She quickly discovered that King Charles III, The Firm, Kate Middleton, and Prince William would not step back and let her have top billing.
Prince Harry’s wife, known for her captivating personality and speaking abilities, was told to stand back in line because the spotlight is reserved for the senior royals.
And standing behind was something Markle simply could not and would not do. When she finally understood, a quick Google search into the complex Royal Family she was marrying would have avoided some rather painful situations it was too late.
Markle and Prince Harry left their royal duties in 2020 and moved to California. Jennie Bond said this about The Duchess of Sussex‘s frustration with the RoyalFamily and failing to deliver: “I have always held the view that Meghan failed to understand that she would never be the top dog in the Royal Family… or even the deputy top dog.”
According to the expert, Markle was used to being independent and in control and, therefore, struggled to fit into the rigid structure of the Royal Family.
The expert shared: “There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be in complete control and charge of your life. There’s nothing wrong with seeking the limelight. It’s just that the Royal Family was the wrong vehicle for her ambitions.”
After learning some harsh lessons while in the UK, the royal commentator dropped the bombshell that Markle is no longer attracted to the spotlight.
The author claimed: “I’m not sure she craves a superstar profile. In fact, she’s been quite low-key in recent times, presumably enjoying her family life in California.”
She concluded by saying that Markle had finally found what she had been searching for – complete control of her private life and businesses.
The journalist stated: “But she has projects in the pipeline with her website, and I’m sure she will enjoy being in control of every detail. She is an independent woman with strong views, and she is perfectly entitled to deploy her skills in any way she wants.”
Markle is still working on several projects.
