Jennifer Lopez is determined to keep the show going after the end of her tumultuous two-year marriage to Ben Affleck.
The mother of two made a jaw-dropping appearance at a pre-Oscar party on Friday, where she reunited with her Monster-in-Law co-star, Jane Fonda. The romantic comedy was released in 2005, one year after her first split from the famous actor and director.
Despite all the smiles, Lopez is navigating a complicated period in her life. She and Affleck have recently cut all ties after claiming for months that their blended families would remain united following the hectic divorce.
Lopez was very close to Jennifer Garner and Affleck’s daughter, Violet Affleck. However, the most troubling aspect for the 55-year-old entertainer is the closeness that her ex-husband shares with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
The pair was married for 13 years, from 2005 to 2018. They have spent a lot of time together. Slowly, a new narrative is beginning to take shape.
Lopez was never the great love of Affleck’s life. It only took them two breakups twenty years apart to realize what was in front of them all along.
An insider told The Daily Mail: “‘It became very clear to Ben after he reunited with JLo that she was not “the one who got away.” She was also not the love of his life. Jen [Garner] was. Jen was there for him through his split, and she will always be there for him. They are best friends, and they share children together.”
J.Lo also has to contemplate the possibility that Affleck and Garner might get back together down the road.
The source continued: “Ben is not Jen’s boyfriend, nor is he her husband anymore. John [Miller] is her partner, and she is happy in her relationship. Ben’s friends truly believe that if Jen and John split, that he would get back together with her in a heartbeat. But that is not the case, and Ben respects her relationship with John.”
Garner started dating tech mogul John Miller in 2018, and the entanglement is beginning to weigh on him.
The person in the know stated: “Does it bother John when he sees the two of them being touchy-feely? Sure. It would get to anyone, but this is nothing new. Ben and Jen have a unique relationship, especially for exes. He loves her more than any woman he has ever loved besides his mom. But he also accepts that this cannot be. Not while she is devoted to someone else. Ben will always flirt with Jen, and she sees it as innocent.”
Affleck and Garner were recently pictured having fun during a paintball outing with their children. The chemistry was undeniable.
