Does Prince Charles Regret Not Having Children With Camilla Parker Bowles? A Close Friend Of Princess Diana Has The Answer

Prince Charles Camilla Parker Bowles Romance

It is certainly no secret that the romantic relationship between Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles started much earlier than their wedding in 2005.

The two became acquainted around 25 years before tying the knot, but despite their instant infatuation with each other, their romance was reportedly deemed inappropriate by Charles’s mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who regarded Camilla as being unfit to become the spouse of the heir to the throne.

Also, after Prince Charles departed to pursue his military career, Camilla did not wait for him to come back and wed Andrew Parker Bowles, which left the future monarch without a marriage candidate.

Following Camilla’s commitment to Andrew Parker Bowles, the distraught Prince settled for an arranged marriage to Diana Spencer, even though the two did not know each other at the time.

As time proved, neither of Camilla or Charles’s marriages were successful, and after they each divorced their spouses in the 90s, they finally got together.

Meanwhile, many could not help but wonder if the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall did regret not having children together, despite Charles sharing two sons with Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry, and Camilla having two children from her former husband, Laura and Tom.

Even if Camilla wanted to have children with Charles, he was done after welcoming Harry into the world.

Paul Burrell, who was Princess Diana’s butler for ten years, shared this story: “She said, ‘Are you pleased?’ [Charles] said, ‘I’m delighted. I now have an heir and a spare. She said, ‘Well, it’s an odd thing to say. Why are you dressed up?’ He said, ‘My work is done now. I’m off to the theatre with Camilla.’ Diana said, ‘I cried myself to sleep–knowing my marriage was over.'”

The rumors that Prince Charles and Camilla did have a child together started swirling after one man claimed he was their lost son.

According to Simon Dorante-Day, who was raised by non-biological parents from a very early age, he was repeatedly told by his adoptive grandmother that he was the love child of Camilla and Charles.

However, Dorante-Day’s claims were taken with a grain of salt, as he was born in 1966, which was before his supposed parents even knew each other.

Their love has conquered it all over the years and after a complicated start, Camilla became one of the most popular figures in the British monarchy. There is even talk now for her to become Queen when Charles takes over.
