It looks like it will be a white winter Christmas for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in London, but some angry royal fans are quick to let them know what they can expect if they step foot in England.
This week, Prince Harry celebrated his birthday in his multi-million home in California with his wife and son Archie.
He had a Zoom call with the rest of the royal family minus his brother and sister-in-law — Prince William and Kate Middleton.
It seems that the chitchat with his relatives made him realized how much he is missing home and all that it represents.
A close friend to the royal couple spoke to Us Weekly and explained that they are hoping to fly to the U.K. to spend Christmas with the royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s friend said they are in love with the royal Christmas traditions and are eager to reunite with their family.
The pal shared: “There’s a lot of tradition surrounding the holidays with his family, and they both have really loved that in the past. With the uncertainty of COVID, they have been taking it one day at a time and are hopeful that they can all go back together and spend it as a family.”
Due to the regulations put in place because of the coronavirus pandemic, the power couple and their young child will have to quarantine for 14 days before they could see the royal family.
The source revealed: “Time will tell if that will need to happen and if it could potentially impact what they do and when, but they are all eager to get back to spend time with Harry’s family and for Archie to see his great-grandmother [Queen Elizabeth II] and great-grandfather [Prince Philip] in particular.”
Royal fans have taken to social media to let the pair know that after their shocking decision to ditch their duties and move to California, the so-called “Megxit,” it is not going to be a warm welcome.
This royal enthusiast had this to share: “What for? They don’t have anybody in the U.K. Plus, they are thriving, having the happiest life since LA.. so, why bother??? U.K. its cold in winter…The majority of the British people will not welcome them ?.”
This follower said that the pair will be egged by angry British people when they land in London. The social media user warned the duo: “We are not eager to have them back in the U.K., I fact they are not welcome! I suspect the sale of eggs will go up – Meg will have to hire extra guards experienced in egg catching to protect her!”
Harry and Meghan were told that the family might not embrace them after causing so much chaos with their decision to become independent.
Another royal fan stated: “The U.K. has just tightened up restrictions again, as they’re experiencing a second wave, and from what I gather, it’s looking as though restrictions will continue way beyond Christmas. There is a restriction on how many people can meet up; it’s just six. When you factor in royal staff, MM and JCMH probably wouldn’t be able to visit any other royal, as it’d go over six! What would be the point of going?! Granny and daddy might take them in, but they should prepare for a chilly reception with the rest of the family.”
The power couple seems determined to keep their profile in the news.
