There were many jaw-dropping moments during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s trip to London for Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee.
However, it seems that one of them was more painful for the power couple because it was deemed the biggest insult of them all.
Prince Harry and his wife attended the Thanksgiving Service for Queen Elizabeth held at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Her Majesty, who is suffering from mobility issues, could not be present.
However, many members of the British royal family stood in for The Queen at the religious event. Among them were Prince Charles, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton.
Cameras caught the two heirs to the throne and Kate Middleton performing an awkward dance to avoid making eye contact with Prince Harry and Markle as they entered the church.
The trio did not talk to Markle and her husband once the service ended. However, there was another moment before the event began that stung Markle and her husband.
Before taking their designated seats far from Prince Harry and Markle, Prince Charles was seen sharing a touching moment with his other daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton.
Prince Harry’s father, Prince Charles, blew a kiss at Middleton after they chatted. The Duchess of Cambridge, moved by the gesture, was seen giggling before walking away.
This week, a royal expert has decided to zoom in on the sweet display of affection and claimed that Prince Harry and Markle felt left out, and that is the biggest dig during the trip.
Royal commentators have said this left Harry and Meghan feeling hurt.
Royal expert Neil Sean explained that Prince Charles’s light-hearted moment was hurtful and profoundly marked Prince Harry and Markle.
He explained: “According to a very good source, that’s one of the things that Harry and Meghan now feel very slighted by. [This is] because of what Prince Charles did in the Cathedral.”
Sean added: “In fact, some are saying, [this] is the biggest insult that they’ve received since they departed, of course, and decided to become Megxit.”
The royal expert continued by pointing out that Prince Harry made their bed (with the scandalous interviews), and now they must lie in it.
The commentator shared: “As I’ve said many times before, you threw down the gauntlet. You said all of those things on TV. Prince Charles, the Queen, Prince William, [the] Duchess of Cambridge, however, Sophie Wessex, are entitled to react in any way that they wish after what went before.”
He also stated: “Prince Charles, Catherine, William, Harry, and Meghan was there really a bigger insult than that. I would just say that it was an off-the-cuff thing that Prince Charles did, and perhaps [he] just never thought about it as they [William and Kate] were right there in front of him.”
He concluded by saying that the public dig will be decomposed in Prince Harry’s anticipated memoir that is due out later this year.
Sean explained: “[And] why should he, given what they’ve done to him. So fast forward, it looks like this particular slight could end up being one of the biggest talking points in Prince Harry’s book.”
It is not known if Prince Charles’s gesture was an innocent one or if it was an intentional diss at his son and Markle.
It seems that Prince Charles might have regretted his action and lack of interactions with Markle and Prince Harry during their UK trip.
Making up for his errors, on Father’s Day, Prince Charles shared a touching photo that included his two sons.
Many royal experts viewed it as an olive branch.
