Paris Hilton did not hold the mama bear that is inside of her after several rude and unsolicited comments were shared on social media about her baby boy, Phoenix Barron.
The proud mom and husband Carter Reum welcomed their first child eight months ago via surrogate. Hilton, who struggled with fertility issues, is often delighted to share adorable photos of her son online.
This week, she did just that. The veteran reality TV star uploaded a series of photos where she and baby Phoenix posed in a luxury living room.
Of course, both mother and son looked stylish in Burberry outfits. Paris Hilton used the caption to explain that she took the pictures during Phoenix’s first trip to New York.
She happily wrote: “My precious angel baby Phoenix’s first time in NYC. ✨👱🏼♀️👶🏼🗽✨.” Many rushed to the comment section to compliment the mom on how cute her baby boy is and praise her choice of outfits.
However, other social media users left Paris Hilton hurt and shaken by the remarks about her son’s head.
Some asked the fashion designer to have her son checked by a doctor because he might have encephalitis, and others said he should wear a helmet to fix the shape of his head.
A TikToker uploaded a video to defend Hilton, and it rapidly went viral. Paris Hilton dropped by the comment section to say those attacking her son’s appearance are sick. She also confirmed that her child has seen a doctor and is in perfect health.
She wrote: “There are some sick people in this world. My angel is perfectly healthy. And yes, of course, he has been to a doctor, he just has a large brain.”
She later took to Instagram, where she shared a lengthy message asking naysayers to stop with the hate and disrespect towards her and her son.
Hilton, who will not be bullied into not sharing photos of her son, said: “Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child, or anyone else’s for that matter, is unacceptable. This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe.”
She added: “I’ve worked hard to cultivate an environment that is all about love, respect, and acceptance, and I expect the same in return.”
She continued: “Phoenix is my world and has been the biggest blessing of my life. Every day with him is a reminder of what truly matters. It’s hard to fathom that there are people who would target such innocence. I hope that people can treat one another with more kindness and empathy.”
Some observers say Hilton handled the situation the perfect way.
