During tense and private meetings, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, sat down with their team to understand what is going on, why they are failing, and more importantly, who is causing their failure.
Saying that 2023 was not a great year for the Sussex couple would be an understatement. Other than the book Spare, Prince Harry and the former actress have nothing concrete to show in the project department.
They lost their Spotify deal, and many big brands that were interested in collaborating with them fled to other high-profile celebrities or royals.
The duo has gathered their camp to understand why the doors of opportunity are being slammed in their faces. During these crisis talks, there was finger-pointing and blame-shifting.
The Sussexes believe the Royal Family, mainly Queen Camilla, played a pivotal role in their disastrous year.
A person from the team told The Express that the Sussex camp has held crisis talks following a succession of failed projects and influential doors being slammed in their faces.
The source claimed: “There’s a general feeling that there has been a vendetta waged against them. There have been talks held with high-profile brands that didn’t lead to anything but should have done. Those brands then actively courted other members of the family.”
Markle and Prince Harry worked diligently to have a relationship with Dior, and Queen Camilla swooped in on several occasions to sabotage the potential deal, according to sources.
In the Spring, Queen Camilla wore Dior to a royal engagement with King Charles III, she opted for Dior Haute Couture at the Palace of Versailles during an official visit to France in September.
In November, it was confirmed that Meghan Markle had lost out on the mega Dior deal to Meg Bellamy, who plays Kate Middleton in The Crown. Prince Harry and Markle feel that they have been crippled by The Queen‘s actions.
The insider stated: “Both Harry and Meghan often wore Dior and were at one point huge fans of the brand. Harry wore a Dior suit to the coronation, and the Sussexes were starting to build up their partnership with the fashion house. Then the focus shifted towards Camilla and other members of the family. To add salt to the wounds, the actress playing Kate Middleton was announced as the new face of the brand. It was all very suspicious timing.”
The power couple thinks that the Royal Family has done more damage to them than they have done to themselves.
The source shared: “They [the Sussexes] are thrashing around like a fish out of water. The team doesn’t appear to know what to do at this point. The consensus now is to try and repair the damage done to the Royal Family and hope that link will help them out of the doldrums.”
The person also stated: “They are in trouble and are struggling to find the best way forward. Harry has been trying to reach out to his family of late but doesn’t seem to be getting anywhere. He appears to have well and truly burned those bridges.”
Thye couple has to find other ways to exist.
Before they start to blame the royal family again they need to sit back and look at what they have to offer. On one side you have a middle aged has-been who was no more than a D rater at her best and on the other side you have a nearly forty year old who has always been bailed out by his father and has no idea what a day’s work is.
