Donald Trump and his family make sure there is never a dull moment when they are given a microphone. Donald Trump Jr. surprised the TV audience by clashing with his father during a live interview.
The businessman meddled deeply in his father’s political affairs by putting his foot down over the possibility of one person he was eyeing as vice president.
Donald Trump Jr. made it clear that Nikki Haley could not be his father’s second in command. Reports have surfaced claiming that Trump is thinking about selecting Haley, Kari Lake, Tim Scott, or Ben Carson.
He said to Newsmax’s Eric Bolling: “I wouldn’t have her, and I would go to great lengths to make sure that that doesn’t happen.”
He slammed Haley, who served as Trump’s UN ambassador and two-term governor of South Carolina, as a puppet whose masters are billionaires.
Donald Trump Jr. declared: “Nikki Haley wants never-ending wars. She’s a puppet of the establishment in Washington, DC. She’s the new favorite candidate of the billionaire class because they want control— no different from academia and Harvard and using their billions to exercise influence.”
Donald Trump Jr. took a swipe at Florida governor Ron DeSantis, who has become one of Donald Trump’s enemies.
He was also forced to acknowledge that Nikki Haley is now the most powerful and popular figure in the race after the former president.
He shared: “Ron DeSantis has proven that he doesn’t have what it takes to be on that stage. He’s embarrassed himself that way. She is now the preferred candidate.”
Trump Jr. is not the only one in the MAGA world to shut down that ticket. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene voiced her displeasure with the idea by saying: “MAGA would revolt if Nikki Haley were to even be given an internship in Trump’s next administration. She represents the neocon establishment ‘America last’ wing of the Republican Party that we are absolutely done with.”
Conservative media personality and Donald Trump’s former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon explained why Nikki Haley is not the woman for the job by saying: “They’ll say Trump needs a woman. Nikki on the ticket. She balances things, and she can bring together the 15 percent of Never-Trumpers in the Republican Party. We’re going to have that fight. If Nikki Haley is in this administration in any capacity, it will fail. She’s a viper. She’s a viper. And once she gets in there, she’ll try to run it as prime minister. She’ll try to be Dick Cheney. Her to Trump will be just like Dick Cheney to Bush.”
Many observers say Haley would bring a lot to the ticket.
