This summer was dedicated to Meghan Markle‘s big return to Instagram. The Daily Mail and Page Six spoke to reliable sources who confirmed that Meghan Markle was coming back to Instagram with a mighty vengeance.
The insiders claimed that Prince Harry‘s wife had plans to take a page out of Kim Kardashian, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Cristiano Ronaldo‘s playbook.
The Montecito royal would be raking in millions of dollars for ads on her official Instagram account that would also give fans a brief look inside her private life with Prince Harry and their young children, Archie and Lilibet.
However, months have gone by, and nothing has happened. While the page is growing with a strong 128,000 followers, Markle has not posted one image on the social media platform.
This week, as multiple websites unearthed an explosive photo scandal, an update was given about Markle’s Instagram takeover.
According to royal expert and Hello!’s royal editor Emily Nash, there is a reason why Meghan Markle is stepping back from the highly anticipated project.
She confirmed that Markle will not be on the site “any time soon” and added: “My understanding is that this account was set up for her in case she wanted to go back to that world. As you know, she was hugely successful on Instagram with her The Tig account, and it is something she did well, and we learned so much about her when she first came on the scene because of her Instagram account.”
She went on to reveal: “But I don’t think it is something she is planning on any time soon. It’s nice that she’s got the option, and she already has a huge audience if she does decide to pop up. But I guess it is a contingency—and also, as a famous person, you have to grab these handles while you can.”

Markle understands that she is treading on dangerous ground by returning to social media because it could be used against her.
This week, social media was used as a weapon against her as an unearthed secret photo of her at a family gathering went viral again. The throwback picture of a younger Markle was leaked by her estranged family to 7NEWS Australia special.
It shows Markle sitting at a dinner table, wearing a white blouse and a messy bun, and smiling. The former actress, who was ready to dive into her meal, tucked into her top.
Taylor Auerbach, the journalist who released the picture, had the following caption for it: “The photographs Meghan Markle NEVER wanted the world to see.”
The comments were harsh, with many calling Markle classless and embarrassing for the way she used the napkin.
Photos like this one are a reminder that Markle will be relentlessly attacked if she relaunches her Instagram or any social media page.
